The absolute final verdict on pets.

Many people, as you all know, have been asking about some "controversial" topics in relation to Destiny, ranging from cat ears to pets. While I have nothing to say on the subject of...cat ears...I want to provide closure on the subject of the pets with my own two cents on the matter. To start with, I keep seeing people saying that Bungie is trying to make Destiny "unique" and that introducing pets will somehow make the game "less unique." Answer me this: What in the hell was UNIQUE about Destiny's gameplay? I'll answer that for you: ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! It's the same old FPS gameplay; aim and shoot; sprint and slide, only this time, with loot on the side. But that's OKAY, because shooters nowadays are NOT carried by their gameplay; they're carried by their setting, lore, story, and universe. This is why we have such great story-driven shooters like Metro, Halo, Bioshock, Fallout, Crysis... In my eyes, having something like pets for the Hunter class would make the gameplay a little more interesting, but more importantly, help flesh out the uniqueness of the SETTING a bit more. Think about it: pets being in the game would create a drive for Bungie to create and flesh out more wildlife species for the Hunters to tame! C'mon, people. Destiny is going to be a FANTASY SCI-FI universe! You can just IMAGINE the potential of awesome unique creatures to tame in a universe like this. These creatures, whose creation was driven by the Hunters' ability to have pets, would subsequently add more diversity and depth to Destiny's universe as well. Each player would have a favorite creature they'd want to tame, effectively adding MORE uniqueness and diversity to your characters. So, to conclude, YES. Pets in Destiny would work, and would be an increase in nearly EVERY category of Destiny; gameplay, setting, story... contrary to the cancerous popular belief, there would be NO drawbacks to having pets in this game. I'm not exactly holding my breath, as it's unfortunately unlikely that pets will be seen on the Hunter's class page (at least for the first game), but there would be no problems if they were. And we can always look to the future sequels for either a "beast master" class to be added, or for the pets being added for Hunters.
