I can't see any real correlation between the threads when sorted by 'trending' - I've tried looking at post count, specific tags, specific users, and there appears to be no relation.
Just as examples: I've seen threads with as little as 2 posts on the front page of trending while it ignores certain threads with massive post counts, and threads with no specific tags other than a specific sub-forum on the front pages.
Am I missing something, or is there a patented super-secret forumla is effect?

Edited by Sgt Petter: 7/3/2013 7:57:07 PMThe formula will probably stay a secret, but it seems to include: - Number of posts in the thread - Number of likes (dislikes probably has a negative effect) - Age, as the original post gets older, it will be less "trending" Mods or admins may be able to give announcement posts high visibility by cheating the system, but otherwise I doubt who the original poster is matters. Disclaimer: This is mostly speculation. Edit: Apparently B.net doesn't allow as much BBcode as I had hoped.

It's calculated using Space Magic.

The Webmaster does what the Webmaster wants. It also has to do with likes, possibly recently liked pages move to the top of trending.
