Anyone else missing their original account right now?

And I know I am not the only one. I first signed into B.net to keep taps on the Halo 2 build up. My first account died because there was a screw up on Microsoft's end back in the old sign in system (Microsoft Passport). Second one was deleted for inactivity, as I recall. I do remember being assured by the web team it was not recoverable. I guess what I am really saying is...colors / years listed aren't always indicative of how long someone has been around the site.

  • Microsoft freaking Passport. That crap permanently disabled my '04 account. I forgot what that old system was called, so thank you for reminding me of that infuriating service. :| I could be at a shiny 9 year right now :'(
I guess what I am really saying is...colors / years listed aren't always indicative of how long someone has been around the site.
COLORS AND YEARS ARE EVERYTHING HERE. If you don't have a colored bar, you don't even exist to me. So-called "this-isn't-my-original-accounters" ("TIMOAs") are the lowest of the low! It's high time some elitism came back to this place! Who wants to start a group for colored bars? I'm thinking we could call it "Rainbow Pride"!

                • I first created an account with Bungie back in '04. My friend had got me to play Halo for the first time and I was out of the PS2 and onto Xbox. Later on there were issues with my e-mail and I created another, my Bungie account fell out of favor due to inactivity some years later. I created another and my e-mail was hacked. This, my most recent account, is less than a month old. My point is, don't cry over spilled milk. If you're a fan, you're a fan. For those with tangible veterancy here, don't be rude. What have any of us to really gain by lying. Food for thought.

I created my account late '03 or early '04 I believe. I didn't have an email address at the time and it gave me the option to create an @microsoft.com email. So I did, and one day I forgot my password and couldn't log in. I tried to recover password but the @microsoft.com address wasn't actually tied to a real email account and I couldn't access it to reset anything. The account went inactive and I didn't want to use a new name. I had my brother send a message under his name for me. Not sure if that helped it, but a while after it was inactive I got to create my account again with my same name. I tried once a week for months hoping it would become available, lol. But it reset my tenure. At the time I was just happy to keep my name. I went back and found old posts that I made, but it said "deleted account" or something. :( Oh well, I am happy that I will get to experience Destiny with my 7 year status tho. Just miss that lost 2 years.

Is it even possible to find an old account? I thought it was already tied with the email i have now. I guess it got deleted a long time ago. Old account was: Eliteslayer66

                  • My original account was deleted when b.net got hacked years and years ago. I was so upset. All my thread posts were either gone or fragmented. I was an avid member of the community, and posted all the time. I was on here every day, literally. I PM'd mods and even emailed bungie to at least attempt to get my account back, but I never got a reply. I left the forums for years until recently because of that whole incident. It's kinda sad looking back. At one point you build yourself up to where you feel like everybody knows you in the community, then one day you log back on and you are a nobody. I may as well be a new member.
