Will post-Destiny release members benefit the Community?

New blood will renew

No strong feelings either way

Will the flood of new members after the release of Destiny revitalize the flagging Bungie community with an infusion of like-minded individuals who share a common enthusiasm and passion for the game? Or will it drive the (admittedly already low) lowest common denominator to even lower depths? Will the flood of new members dilute all meaningful conversation until these forums are nothing more but an endless chorus of 'JOIN MY CLAN!1!!', leading a mass exodus of members away from the site or to the relative haven of private groups? Or will there be no real change, just a continuation of the community's current state?

  • Well, by "new blood", I would assume that means first time Bungie gamers, since Destiny is a cross-platform game. But most Bungie gamers now are old(and current) Halo fans. So really, "new blood" would mean new guys coming from PSN. Totally different styles over there, but I've heard that they are more polite. And PSN has a stronger emphasis on indie and artsy games (Journey for one) than XBL. So if that means more creativity in the forums and game, I'm all for that.
