Get ready to see a lot more of the # symbol in your Facebook Newsfeed. Yes, the social network is about to start looking a bit more like that other social network you might use as it begins to roll out clickable hashtags.
Over the next few weeks all Facebook users will be able to include a hashtagged phrase, like #royalbaby or #puppies, in their posts and then watch it become clickable. When a hashtag is included in a post, clicking on it will pop out a feed that aggregates others posts that have been tagged with the same phrase.
The move will make it easier to find what other people are saying about specific topics and events, something that people have typically gone to Twitter to do over Facebook.
Link
What are your thoughts on this. I hardly use facebook anymore (i've been using twitter) but I think this is a stupid idea. Facebook should be about interacting with your friends and family, not the entire world, that's what twitter is for.

damn it, I was going to post a topic about this just now, but I used my noggin and did a search first.

Edited by Arrogant Bastard: 6/13/2013 8:45:15 PMWhy does everyone hate tags so much? it's an easy way to follow posts/articles of similar content. People who include superfluous/unnecessary tags are doing a disservice to the system.

Oh great #yolo #stupid #ihatehashtags inbound on facebook too.

If i wanted to talk to my family and friends i'd call them on the phone. -_- I have a troll account for twitter, anyone who takes that shit seriously is stupid...
-
So that's why I keep seeing hashtags on FB...huh...that's kind of lame.
-
I completely disabled and destroyed my facebook as much as possible, so i don't really care about it.

Oh well, more viral marketing incoming.
