Faction: The Storm Striders XBL
Hello Community! Seeing that Destiny has been slowly creeping closer, I have decided to open up a faction for later use in the game.
We are called the Storm Striders. I plan on having a large faction but also at the same time relatively small. I would like it if I could get up to 40 people for the faction, this 40 will include myself. So really 39 people would suffice. There will be -EDITS- at the bottom informing you of how many people we have left!
Requirements: 16 years or older, mic would be great but i'm not forcing you to buy one, females are allowed to join just as equally a male would, this faction does NOT require name change.
Jobs: We work as mercenaries or people to helping other people. However, this can come at a heavey price that's how our group will get money aside from doing our own missions, looting, etc.
Role: So i'm sure you want to know what we do? Since this faction will be slightly big, I would like to divide you all up into something your good at. This would be Sniper, Assault, Heavy. The roles you choose to go with your profession, Hunter, Titan, Rogue, etc. is up to you. The factions roles are divided evenly as put below.
NOTE: Some of this will probably change since the game itself is not out yet and i'm going off of things I have read and seen.
Snipers: 10 Leader: Zero297 (Me) :Members: SnIp3 Sh0t, cybercal1608, Rage Is My Age, Blud Monk
Light Assault: 10 Leader: BlackOut :Members: Jeff 009, pr06ram, oblivion077, SoapyBarracuda, DeRyze, Entity 159
Heavy Assault : 10 Leader: Anima Alchemist :Members: JackFrost13, MDInsanity, Driger117, msuspartan75jr, kitt1969, PorkyBLOODYFANG
Warlocks: 10 Leader: Undecidedsniper7 : Dark Elation, Gage118, N7Reclaimer, Kumagai
^ Names of the people you see there are Gamer-tags from the Xbox 360 some of them (and myself) may use our Xbox name anyway.

13 RepliesUpdate 5 Hello people! I have noticed this thread getting pushed back behind everything! This is how we get people (for the most part.) to join our Faction! If it interests the Storm Striders, post topics as comments on here to keep it going! It shouldn't be left in the dust be question forums that are easily found in other places. 4 RepliesUpdate 2 It has come to my attention that leader ship may be tricky for those starting out so for now I will discuss the matter of leaders. Inside the groups (Sniper, Assault, Heavy) will have their own tiny groups to help their own "profession" out. So, Sniper/medic Sniper/hunter (I'm using Sniper because i'm the leader of it and those are the plans for my snipers.) as for the rest it will be similar but will be decided (with my help) by the one who leads that particular group. The leader who takes on a group is in charge for everyone there. This leader is in charge of you but I am in charge of Him/Her. I lead the Snipers (and this group will be used as an example a lot in explaining this) I need Snipers that are willing to be medics, hunters, and if you chose (if we are full on medics and hunters) to be a normal sniper. This will also go for any of the other groups as well. Now if you don't want to be a sniper and want to on the front lines fighting with the assault (this will be annoying considering we have to fill your spot.) However, I can allow one change a month (yes, ill keep track) but if you pick something that you will later be bored with please, spare the headaches and pick the one that YOU want I'm not deciding your place you will as long as there is room! 1 ReplyCan we organize some sort of game night so that we can build some tactical as well as personal relationships prior to Destiny? If I'm allowed in lol. Game doesn't really matter IMO but it would be nice to learn to play around each other's strengths and weaknesses.

Bungie has created the 5 (possible 6) Factions already... player's can only create the aforementioned group, guilds, clans, or what ever Bungie will call them... That being said, I will probably be spending more time online in Destiny (Especially if it is Oculus Rift compatible) then most my other cohorts, I am making a Titan that will be a Point Gun and will be a gun for heir (So to speak) if you need any help with anything I will be more the will to lend a hand in any way I can... now you don't actually have to pay me, my fee is just keeping the loot I pick up so no real lose to you... I do have and idea that I have been thinking about over and over, trying to make this piece fit into our (Storm Striders) way. My idea, as well as a few other Striders, have been talking once in awhile about squads and how we can or could fit them into the faction. It has been on my mind and thought I should share some of these thoughts. Squad Setups My general thoughts about this entire thing is that each Group has their own ranks. So for example: I am the leader of the Sniper group so I would be General. Then, the next person in line would be second in command of the Snipers and only the snipers. I will try and put a chart up sometime (if I can) to better demonstrate that. Moving on! So, the Group Leaders will be in a Squad together. Everyone that is Second Command in their own Group will also be in a Squad then the thirds, the fourths, and so on. Now, unless some one is kicked out of the faction or quits, the people in your squad are the people in your squads. These people and yourself are the only ones that will basically watch each others backs REGARDLESS of Group. Lastly, We currently do not have the people to try this out and we don't have a list of names we can name each other. I personally would go with basics such as Alpha Beta Charlie (etc). The number in each squad will be around four since that is the number of groups to join. Now your probably thinking (that really holds now strategy or variety to the Squads) well, I understand but, we don't even know what we are jumping into here so it would have to work until then. ^This has been what I have been thinking of the past few days. 1 ReplyNice. Probably won't join as I want to focus on some other things in game but I like the interest in factions already. I have thought of the basics for my own but probably will not go into it until after E3 when we know some more about how the game is going to work.

Update 4 Hello! Just saying that this forum is still active and unfortunately, I do not bear any new news about us. So far everything seems to be up to ship shape here. Hopefully by Monday I will have new news for the Storm Striders!

13 RepliesVery interesting to see factions already popping out. I'm interested in joining, but i won't turn 16 until this summer. Is that okay? If yes then i will gladly join the Storm Striders. This game is going to be very exciting when it comes out. Though I'm stuck between picking out either the Titan class or the Hunter class and these are only the classes available for now so I'm conflicted in which one to pick.

I think it really shows that people are getting ready to play together and have a more social experience in gaming, and that not only reflects well on Bungie's goal for this game but for progress in online social interaction. I hope other people create factions and promote a more united gaming community.

I do not care what colors you have EXCEPT, there will have to be some dark red somewhere on your gaurdian. Your armor is fully up to you. If we have an emblem look at the photo^ that's what we are basically going to (try to) have! If you have any questions on our colors or suggestions. Leave them here in the reply box. -end

Before I watched this video I didnt know if currency would actually be in Destiny so if you already knew then oh well this is news to me.

26 RepliesUpdate 1 I realize that there are going to be more than the sniper, assault, heavy. But its a start! My main goal for this Faction is to get it popular! If someone needs a job done and is to low of a level or need a guide, it would be cool for someone to say "Dude get a hold of the Storm Striders!". I want that reputation to be there so we have something to do almost all the time. The best part is that it is your choice if you want to take the job and usually someone gets a hold of the leader. If they do, Ill lead the project plus grab random people (if they want) out to do the task with me and share the payment with the Striders that assist in the task. The jobs that we can take on are the following: Guides/Guards (payment varies on how many Striders are needed). Assassinations (depends if PVP is serious in an open world) Basically anything that a person cannot do but we can because of more firepower/we have done killed the enemy before/trying to acquire something from someone etc. Merchants: Just one more way to get in-game currency. Name explains itself. Everyone will be newbies when this comes out so I urge the Striders to acquire vehicles as soon and fast as possible. (even if its looted from someone if we can) we may even need some space ships. As for your personal gear that's your own responsibility to find. There wont be a specific dress for the Striders perhaps other than a hooded cloak (sniper) -End
