In this age of tolerance, it is unacceptable that a section of the internet be persecuted so thoroughly and unjustly as some are today. Recent studies by the United Nations have shown that Sapphire members are the victims of 20% of all abusive behaviour on the internet, coming in just behind bronies and furries in a recent poll of 'Most hated internet demographic'. Put frankly, this needs to stop. We've come a long way since the ignorant abuse directed towards demographics in the 20th century. Women are now allowed to vote, segregation has ended and we live freely together in most countries around the world. In the light of this spirit of acceptance, it is frightening how unjustly persecuted members of Sapphire are, no matter how strange, disturbing and borderline creepy their behaviour is regarded by many of us on these forums. Each and every member makes a choice to join Sapphire - the constituency of b.net need to respect that choice instead of senselessly trashing them. Calls for Sapphire to become the first victims of Bungie's slingshot into the sun have sadly become commonplace. You didn't need to be black to support the end of segregation. You didn't need to be a women to support the suffrage movement. You don't need to be a psuedo-intellectual sycophant to accept Sapphire members for who they are. Let us stride forth with this spirit of tolerance and put an end to this discrimination. Together can make a difference. #respectsapphire2013
