Would it be possible to create a class of actual bungie.net accounts, and then have it inherit your WLID stats (join date, etc.) upon linking? Having to sign in constantly is one of the most irritating parts about the new site, along with the stupid drop down menu to select what type of account to sign in with.
Why can't we just have a b.net account, and then we can have auto-sign in and not have to go through Microsoft's servers to sign in?
While I hate a whole raft of changes about the site, this one irks me most. So, please, can we have some way to fix this?

That feel bro... I know that feel. It was one of my first complaints about the new site as well. I still find it odd that bnet is the only site that behaves this way. It's also the only site that ever had a problem with logging out. i don't claim to know anything about WLID authentication, but it just seems like other sites have it figured out just fine.

Would it not be possible to have safe devices, similar to how Facebook and Microsoft do things? So, you go through a few hoops, and on devices that you've confirmed you can be auto-signed in?

Edited by Verachi: 3/14/2013 6:41:14 AMWhile on my laptop I don't mind this since I have my hotmail signed in at all times. But on my Iphone it's a different story. The browser crashes constantly making me sign in every 5 to 10 minutes. I hear the firefox browser doesn't crash so I might give that a try.
Posted by: Achronos Intended operation: Bungie.net uses a session cookie to keep you signed in. Your session lasts for 60 (I think) minutes. It is renewed everytime you refresh the site. However, every 24 hours or if you close your web browser all the way down, you have to sign in again. Because we use external authentication systems, we can't just assume you still own the account you're using, and we've found that silent reauth generally doesn't work very well (it can lead to infinite refresh loops). The best you can do is to click the "remember me" button in your chosen login method's sign-in screen. This will allow you to skip typing stuff in, but you will have to still manually initiate the process when your session expires. We're unlikely to change this policy given the obvious security ramifications.

This. Even though it might be the epitome of a first world problem, it would be nice to have it changed.

I agree. It really isnt that difficult, but having to do it constantly really irks me.
