The Alien was designed to be an abomination. A monster in space that was like nothing anyone had ever seen before. Then JC comes along and turns the Alien into "Insects in Space".
-blam!-ing son of a bitch.
-
I agree. The Xeno was designed to be sexual and monstrous at the same time. Look up the sicko who designed him. It was designed to push our buttons on several different levels. JC made them killable.

I don't see how "the eggs just exist, okay?" is preferable to "the eggs are laid by a queen, which is merely the next logical step in the already insect like growth of xenomorphs (egg, larva, human cocoon, xeno butterfly)" But hey, whatever floats your boat.

Edited by DELIVER ME MEMES: 2/9/2013 2:08:42 AMyou guys know they can mutate a host into a queen if they don't have a current queen, right? you become the egg.
-
I liked Aliens better than Alien. Come at me bro. Anyway, like other people are saying the queen thing is kind of the only logical way those eggs could have been laid. Those eggs are almost three feet tall, there's no way a normal alien could lay it.
-
Did you like the Prometheus take on things?
-
I personally think he improved and expanded upon the Alien lore. It showed us how they coexist and propagate on a large scale with the use of the Queen.
The Alien was designed to be an abomination. A monster in space that was like nothing anyone had ever seen before.
...And they still are. Cameron never really changed anything to the original design as far as I'm aware.

Edited by The Dark Hadou: 2/8/2013 1:37:46 PMGiven that the egg sacks feature in the first film, how would you have had Cameron flesh out the xenomorph's life cycle? Something had to have laid those eggs and a queen alien seems the most logical choice.
-
So, hang on a second, you are pissed that James Cameron took a concept that was almost entirely derivative of "Insects in Space (+100 dick imagery)", and basically continued that trend? The only animal I can think of that implants its young into its prey are all of the insect variety.

Woah... Just found the desktop background of an old Windows 95 PC I had.
-
Ok.... The only difference between the xenomorph from Alien to Aliens is that in the first film the dome head is smooth and in the second it has ridges. What have I missed?
-
I think he stayed pretty true to the original concepts..

Which movie are we talking about here?
