The not-so-mysterious disappearance of the "Report" button.

Well, we can, for now, kiss that good ole report button goodbye. I mean, we can dislike an OP, but there's not much we can really do except for mute a member. Does this mean that rule-breaking will become a thing of the past and all we have to do is mute the people we don't like? Will only egregious offenders be smited? I really don't think that removing the report queue and having the report option removed is beneficial to the forum. I'd make a poll, but alas, I cannot. What do you think? Has muting and the new Bnet taken away the need for moderators? Does muting take away the need for bans?

  • We've been fired! In all honesty, the new tools available largely make Bnet your own personal experience. YOU are the moderators. Between you're ability to hide content and mute members, you control your own experience. That said, malicious content will assuredly be posted and that will still fall upon us to remove permanently. So, use the tools available to you to remove bad content from your vision and we'll remove it from everyone else's eyes.

    • I really don't see the need for the mods currently. If we're going by this whole "Mute and Hide is the new thing!" mindset, how is it that they are relevant at all? Did the report queue just get turned into the Hide queue?

      • I guess the mute button is a compromise.

        • The hide post button pops up a small dialog box, with options for why you did so. This seems to act as a sort of improved report. Whether enough "hides" will add to a queue or not, I'm not sure, but it does give a much more in-depth approach than a simple report button.

        • I think it was Recon, but maybe Foman... one of them said they can still ban and the likes, but we're expected to just avoid people now. They'll only deal with serious issues. My guess is like mass spam or porn linking.

          • When you hide a topic you get given a chance to say why. I guess this is like the new report button.
