Bungie.NEXT : Switch 101

If you were a user on the previous version of Bungie.net and would like to adapt your old working habits, you've come to the right place. This guide will explain what has been added, changed, and removed from the site. It is currently a work in progress so please feel free to correct any inaccurate information and provide feedback on how this guide can be improved. I do apologize in advance if your eyes bleed from the walls of text. When the beta is over, I will incorporate images and video so this guide is easier to follow. Note: This is only 1 of 2 support guides. The Bungie.NEXT Support 101 guide has not been posted yet. The second guide will be geared toward users that are completely new to Bungie.net and did not use the old site (second guide will include website and Bungie game related FAQ as well as information on how to create an account, link/un-link authentication services, post on the forums, ect.). If you're interested in helping, feel free to send me a private message.
POST IN PROGRESS... Temp Side Notes // Administrators cannot create public topics when admin only is checked. Admins and founders cannot delete comments or replies to topics (public or private). Group visible publicly means whether or not group Activity is shown. Announcements are shown depending on whether thread is public or private. Admins and founders can edit and delete OP of both private and public topics. Changing membership from requires approval to open/closed does not affect members in pending queue. Members cannot leave group from group page. When a founder leaves, the Administrator that first joined the group is promoted to Founder. If no Administrators are assigned, the Member that first joined the group is promoted to Founder. A group is deleted if all members leave. If a group is deleted, it does not appear under deleted groups for the last member that left or for anyone following the group at time of deletion. A group that was deleted can be re-made with the same name.
ADDED:
From your profile, you are able to view pending groups and deleted groups. You may also remove yourself from a pending group. In addition to the open and requires approval membership options, there is now an option to close the group so members can't even get into the pending queue. Group names can be edited. Groups may be disabled from public view. Group members now have the option to create a new topic that is visible to the public or just group members. There is a settings option to make it so only group Administrators can make public forum topics in the group. There is also a setting to make posts public by default; this setting only selects new topics to be available to public. You still have the option to create a new private topic and the visibility of existing topics are not affected by this setting. Each group now has an avatar that appears on the group page and in group searches. Groups may now be associated with tags. Following groups is now an option. You do not have to be a member of a group to follow it. If you are a member of a group, you are also a follower of that group. Following a group allows you to see updates via the Activity Feed. You may follow a maximum of 100 groups.
CHANGED:
You can now only be a member of 10 groups, as opposed to 25 like the old website. Legacy members of this site might belong to more groups than 10. As soon as they want to join new groups, they’ll have to drop below the threshold. Group themes now only have one background image at 960x164. The old group home header was 631x203. The old group home sidebar image was 256x207. The old group forum header was 902x80. Group news has been changed to Announcements, which are displayed on the homepage. When you create a new forum topic, you have the option to put a quick-link in the Announcements section. Security roles for groups have changed. The old site allowed you to have up to 15 group security roles (3 system roles, 12 custom roles). The new site only has 4 group security roles (4 system roles, 0 custom roles), which are NonMember, Member, Administrator, and Founder.
NonMember: View public topics, Post in public topics Member: View public topics, Post in public topics, Post in private topics, Create new private topic, Create new public topic (if enabled) Administrator: View public topics, Post in public topics, Post in private topics, Create new private topic, Create new public topic (if enabled), Blacklist members (doing this demotes the user to a NonMember), Approve members, Kick members, Create new announcement, Modify group settings, Promote members, Delete posts Founder: View public topics, Post in public topics, Post in private topics, Create new private topic, Create new public topic (if enabled), Blacklist members (doing this demotes the user to a NonMember), Approve members, Kick members, Create new announcement, Modify group settings, Promote members, Delete posts, Demote administrators, Kick administrators, Blacklist administrators (doing this demotes the user to a NonMember)
Group description and motto have been merged. Group description was transferred from old site. The Group History Viewer has been replaced with Group Activity, which is now visible to the public. Group activity displays new members, new topics created, and new likes. Records of members rejected from the queue, members banned, members kicked, members that leave, and changes to group settings are no longer visible.
REMOVED:
The Security Role Editor feature has been removed. Submit News, Approve News, Post News Directly, Edit News, Moderate Forum, Edit Other's Posts, Create Resource Entries, and Edit Resource Entries are group permissions that have been removed. Quick Linkname, Forum Thread Limit, Group HQ City, Group HQ State or Province, Group HQ Country, and Group HQ Postal/Zip Code have been removed from the group settings. Member search has been removed. News, Articles, Group FAQs, Member Contact Info, and Group Links have been removed. The membership type is no longer displayed.
