Home invasion leads to double shooting

Basically three men tried to break into a house and the homeowner shot two of them. Good for the homeowner.

I'm on the side of the homeowner, however it is unfortunate that people died. It is always bad when people get to the point where they feel that crime is their only option. I do support the idea that people should be afraid to break into other peoples houses though. I have a CC permit and own a number of guns, mostly for recreational purposes. I am however prepared to fire on people who put my family at risk, though I would only use it as a last resort, and after firing a warning shot. I possibly wouldn't use it at all if it were only me threatened.

An alternative that doesn't involve executing burglars. [/quote] In my opinion, the burglars knew what risks they were taking by breaking the law. They're breaking into someone's house to steal what doesn't belong to them. They could potentially hurt or kill the owner, and they're definitely traumatizing them. Once they cross that line and they've broken in, they have forfeited their lives and they accept any and all consequences, whether that be prison or death.
