•
Posted by: da bomb drop That all? You get drivers going faster than that on every British motorway at night..... But seriously, sounds fun.
Even during the day, mind. On my way up the M1 I saw people barreling past at over 100mph. Hell, I even did 100mph for a good stint when there was no other traffic around. Got my Polo above its theoretical top speed of 103mph.

 • On any major highway you'll see people driving that fast anyway.

 •
Posted by: A Good Troll Did you only go 85mph or did you go over the speed limit anyway? I generally go a little under 10 over on pretty much any highway regardless of the speed limit, so I doubt that would change on an 85mph speed limit or even a 100mph speed limit road.
Same, on my motorcycle it's usually 10-20 over the limit all the time.

 • I was doing between 85 and 90 most of the time. Didn't want to push it too hard due to the road still being new and hogs having not yet figured out to stay away.
Posted by: FALSE R3ALITYx Do you even lift? OT: I drive 85 on the highway here in Arkansas daily. I do have to keep a close eye for the law. Good thing my brother is a cop. My question is, do people still speed? Meaning, when the speed limit is 70 mph, drivers tend to drive 75-80 mph. Are there those who are driving 90-95 mph?
Of course, I got passed by a few people. Even worse is there are people who refuse to do the speed limit. Ugh. EDIT: William Gates get out of my head please [Edited on 12.10.2012 7:36 AM PST]
Posted by: RighteousTyrant
Posted by: William Gates I drive SH-130 every day to and from work. Get on my level.
So do I, but not the 85-mph stretch. I get off just before it starts. :-/
You're not missing anything. It's awful in the morning and afternoon. [Edited on 12.10.2012 7:36 AM PST]

 •
Posted by: A Pimpin Lady
Posted by: William Gates
Posted by: A Pimpin Lady Our highway speeds in Texas are awesome. West Texas highway speeds are typically above 80 mph.
Yeah, but the scenery sucks. Unless you have a hard-on for windmills.
Which is why the speed limit is 85 mph. There's nothing out there. Most of the highways in the rest of the state have 75 mph speeds. that's still awesome in my book.
But dat sunset. Was in Amarillo visiting family last year for a weekend. Watched it everyday. Absolutely beautiful.

 • We have an inch of snow tightly packed unto our roads that will likely be there for the next several months. No matter what the limit is, I'll be used to 40mph in 4WD. While you can legally go 85, all I need to do is turn the wheel and tap the brakes to experience 4Gs while traveling in a straight line.
