Bungie has finally released Destiny stuff! Let November 27th, 2012 be a semi-important day in Bungie history! Speculation starts...NOW!!!!!!!
-
Last year everyone was shocked that Halo 4 wasn't at the VGAs, 343 SAID it wouldn't be at the VGAs, Bungie (to my knowledge) has not confirmed or denied anything. I have a couple of reasons why I think we will hear about Destiny tonight. - The most recent "leak" caused a pretty big change to Bungie.net's main page, very strange. - The nature of the response to the leak "We weren't quite ready, but we will be soon.." This was a little different then what they typically say - The Geoff Keighley tweet - Plus today is December 7th. What better day, the 7TH! I'm guessing, Bungie Logo, black screen, voice over, quick gameplay shots in engine, then Destiny logo [Edited on 12.07.2012 10:48 AM PST]

Looks like they are streaming on spike.com Edit: also, they're streaming it on XBoxLive, problem solved. [Edited on 12.07.2012 6:33 AM PST]

Announcement tonight? :-)

Actually the inner 7 year old is a 7 reference. Same with 700 years in the future. But anyways, I CAN'T WAIT! We're finally getting a good developer! :D I missed you Bungie!
-
I'm really excited about this game, i have the feeling it's gonna be pretty good! Especially since Bungie is making it because they want to, they are doing it with passion and that can only turn out good.
Posted by: psychotic dwarfs I can't wait for more information on this Bungie! Be the opposite of 343 and listen to your fans!
Childish cristicism aside, there's not really a way for Bungie to listen to the fans right now if we dont have anything concrete to cristicise/incentivise for now.
Posted by: eugene1993 I haven't read the entire thread but has anyone said anything about how they could be making it more accessible by allowing the mobile platforms to be involved? I think it means that people no matter what platform they have will be able to experience it in some way.
Nothing is confirmed but i'm sure they will make mobile involved in some way. Whether it will be used as a live GPS map of were you are or for some other handy companion purpose.
Posted by: Madness87 Not necessarily that, but when you say it's not as mature, it means the story and elements won't get me emotionally involved. I don't want just mindless, brain-numbing gaming akin to Angry Birds or something. Maybe IGN is wrong or something, but I would love to see the political, religious, cultural, social, ethnic ramifications of an Earth 700 years in the future with only one city left. Not necessarily asking for much here. And yes, when they say accessible, it usually means dumbing down gameplay and no learning curves. Games these days have too much hand-holding. Soft-kill zones if you venture slightly outside of the linear path, waypoints, tips, tutorials, etc.
Oh my God, I could not agree with you more! Take note Bungie!

The stuff that I liked the most about CE and Marathon is when they managed to create enviroments that felt truly alien and new. So seeing them going to wierd less traveled and possibly untraveled places is exciting. And I am not worried about the "inner 7 year old" comment and trying to hit a wide audience. Look at the pixar stuff and well most adventure movies or books. It doesn't take sex and over the top violence, alhtough I'm sure there will be violence in the game, to make good story or games. Sex and violence are usually used merely as gimmicks and really just exclude younger audiences more than really adding any really valuable content to games, etc. And god am I done with everything being done dark. The only thing making everything dark accomplishes is depressing the -blam!- out of everyone. It;s still unrealistic and childish even if everyone is wearing black and being gloomy and -blam!-.

The screenshots and information makes this game remind me of Fallout. A vast open world game but this will be 100 times better that Fallout. [Edited on 12.03.2012 8:08 PM PST]

Thank God!!! A game developer that can make a true AAA title Please take my money! [Edited on 12.03.2012 10:23 PM PST]

Bro, it takes place 700 years into the future with humanity being demolsihed by aliens, so much that they are reduced to staying in Earth's "last city" so I mean...steampunk feel is just fine with me.
-
I would love it if it was third person. :D

When Bungie blows all other competition out of the water. I'll be laughing so hard.(with my face clustered to the screen i'll be playing Destiny on.) if not, I'll still be playing it because that 1 Picture says a thousand words to me. (PLAY ME!!! PLAY MEE!!!!!) a thousand times over.

...for a new beginnig.

Bungie is coming back...

In response to the "inner 7 year old", I believe they are talking about making you feel like when you were 7 years old and everything is new and exciting! I played Halo:CE when I was 3-4 years old and I still remember those days. If Bungie does this right, then I will love Destiny as much as I love Halo:CE.

I am so friggin' excited to see more of this game!! We have missed you Bungie <3

Anybody else immediately think "Sandpeople" in that one picture with the giant tank-thing?
