So I started a thread about money and wealthy people a while back, and got some very interesting responses. I'm going to start this topic on high school social skills and keep it short
I'll give you the key to making friends in high school:
Actually care about other people, go to ANY and every extracurricular activity your school throws also. Don't harbour attitudes like, "Everyone around me is a moron and I'm super smart and all these people with friends and lives are really losers and I don't need friends," it's such an unhealthy attitude bro.
I know a guy who thinks this exactly, I've been going to a private school for a while and he's still in public. He plays pokemon on his phone is every class and doesn't make any effort to meet people....though when we hang, he complains about how shallow people are around him, how he hates the popular kids, he deserves friends but no one at the school tries to understand him....
This bring me back to my other thread. Why is it that people have this mentality of, "I'm here, I'm alive! Thus, I deserve!"
It's totally bologna my Flood brothers. If you harbor that mindset, and you're looking for friends, trash it,
The key to meeting people is geniunely listen to the stories the have to tell, find out alittle about them....maybe they're not shallow, maybe people like my friend are the shallow ones and not giving others a chance.
Thing is I don't believe in "popular" kids and losers all that much. Well I only believe in social people and antisocial....all the people I know on sports teams, clubs, etcetera are the nicest people I know, and will be happy to be your friend, unless you're outspoken about hating popular kids lol
Anyway this is another one of my golden threads, no need to respond to this, just luminate on what I've said. If you need someone to talk to feel free to PM me
Yes I played soccer, my only sport in HS, but still. I do not believe in some hierarcy in high school, or how only the cool kids are the ones who play sports. What I'm saying is make an effort to meet people
I'm out guys, I need to finish my Pokemon White 2 walkthrough that I've been working hard-on, but if you disagree with what I've said we should get into a PM discussion......peace brah!

This troll is getting boring.

I've got some advanced classes, yet I go out and meet people. Me and one of my friends are currently trying to introduce some of our friends to other people.

Haha nice
Posted by: Hugh G Gains
Posted by: THE G0D FL0PPER I have always had friends in the popular crowd because they are more outgoing than me and they reached out and kind of broke the barrier of shy ness. I'm a bit sarcastic but apparently they like that as long as you aren't sarcastic as a first impression and get to know someone well enough so they can take a joke. I wouldn't say that I'm an ultra stud but my friends are popular so I am slightly less to whatever they are.
best post in the thread. Listen to him you anti social geeks
Thanks Bro, just being honest and oh and another tip for geeks You can play video games and not be considered a geek. Just don't have everything on you make everyone think about video games or talk in public about it. I never geek in school except for in TV Production class.

I'd make an effort to if not everyone and their grandmother shunned people for not being an athlete. [Edited on 11.16.2012 8:55 PM PST]
Posted by: IonicPaul I don't know, because high schoolers are immature, underdeveloped kids who often throw away common sense at first impulse?
This is true, but there are a percentage of high schoolers who have the ability to rationalize and make intelligent decisions. These are the kind of people I enjoy. The other 95% are the worst. I hate it when people blame their mistakes on age or inexperience. Everything that happens to you is based upon choice, if you made a stupid choice then thats on you, your age or current mentality has nothing on that, because you could have always chosen differently.

I'd rather go to McDonalds.

This OP gives advice on the same level as Charlotte Bronte.

The reason I don't have any friends is because I moved country. It's no fault of my own.
Posted by: Hugh G Gains
Posted by: DaCabooseReal It's funny how college can make high school look so stupid. Honestly, none of it matters, live your life in highschool so that you won't regret your actions. If you enjoy sitting around playing Pokemon all day, do it. If you enjoy playing sports, do it. Variety is good though.
Yeah I prretty much disagree with this. If you're an anti-social retard, who doesn't put out the effort to socialize, what makes you think that will magically change after high school?
Still confirming my theory you're OPs alt. People feel the need to socialize because they want to fit in with people with similar interests. In college this is much easier due to self acceptance. People are hardly put down due to personal hobbies. In High school everything's pathetically based around status quos and such. College gives you the opportunity to be your true self, and find people who share the same hobbies and mannerisms.

Maaaang, who needs friends when you got imaginary ones.
