At what point can we talk about *Spoilers*

I mean literally, at what point in time can we on the Bungie.net forums talk openly about the plot of Halo 4 without fear of getting a warning / ban. I mean posting threads which have the ending in the title or something like that. Any ideas when this will be ok?

 • Or or or or or ... You could spend the second of time it takes to type *spoilers* in the title. It pisses me off when people assume that just because I haven't played something in the first month that I won't ever.

 • There are rules against leaks, no spoilers. So long as you have "Spoilers" in the title, it doesn't matter once a game is released. So, day one, you can talk about the ending of any game.

 • Good luck. You might as well just wait few months. Sad thing is it doesn't matter how long you wait really, in my experience there is always that one person who calls you out on it.

 • I thought the only problem was posting leaks.

 • If you have to question yourself, "Is it a spoiler?" then it probably is

 • At least a month after it's release.

 • I've been wanting to ask this. Give it 4 to 8 weeks after the release date.

Just because Bioshock came out 5 years ago doesn't mean it can't still be ruined for someone. Be courteous to other gamers.

I only played the game last week and it was amazing!

 • I think 2 to 3 months is acceptable. Major games (Halo 4, Blops 2, Borderlands 2) wait 2 months. Minor games wait 1 month.

 •
Posted by: antony X1000 I'd say about a week after the game was released, but it's probably a safer bet to put "spoilers" in the title for a few weeks at least,
Agreed! About a week or two.

 • When you feel like you wouldn't get a pissed off person if you shout the spoiler in a crowded room of gamers. Just use the spoiler tag, for now.

 • This was up for debate in the following months after Reach came out a few years ago. Initially, if I recall correctly, it was generally decided that it's common courtesy to simply add the *spoiler* tag to whatever - because there is always someone who is going to be spoiled. Basically, don't be a jerk and follow the bro-code ("Do unto others as you would have them do to you"). Just add the spoiler tag (doesn't require much effort anyways), and don't post spoilers in the thread title.

 • I didn't realy believe that you intentions were to ruin the story, but not placing "spoilers" into the tile is what would most likely happen. As I stated before, that not everyone has the game yet. And just because people don't have the game yet doesn't mean that they are not followers of the story. Chances are, they just havne't recieved the game yet. Rule of thumb: 7 weeks after launch should be safe.

 • The desire isn't to ruin it for someone, but to feel as though most people either know the ending by now, or don't care if they do. If someone posted something about the Halo 3 ending in the title no one would get angry, despite the fact there are probably some people who haven't played it yet.

 • I would say as long as you are doing it in the flood, post away. But why would you want to ruin a game for somone? I would imagin that if you were go to Halo Waypoint you would be able to find exactaly the right place to do it. Again the main question is, why would you want to ruin the game for someone. Some people don't have the game yet, my self included. I'm waiting for it to be a christmas gift. Maybe wait till after the holiday season.
