Bungie's Next Big Thing at VGAs?
I think Bungie will show a reveal trailer for their Next Big Thing at the VGAs on December 7.
If the Activision/Bungie contract released earlier this year is to be believed, then Bungie's next game will release next year, and I would assume it will be released in the fall. That's less than a year away. I don't think we'll get a ton of details before the year ends (as much of the marketing blitz will fall into 2013) but I think we will get a reveal trailer for the game before 2012 ends. It may even be a teaser without any in-game footage like Bungie has released in the past (i.e. ODST and Reach).
It seems like it is getting close to being in a publicly showable form. There have been plenty of tweets and references to Bungie playtesting the game.

I have exciting plans for the weeks to come.[/quote]I think we are just weeks away from getting our first glimpse of the game.
With the VGAs being a showcase where a lot of big games have been shown in the past (Mass Effect 3, Uncharted 3, etc.), and only about four weeks away, I think this may be it.

I would just like to point out that PAX Prime 2013 will be amazingly awesome because Bungie more than likely will be there. You guys should all come....seriously....

To me it seems there would be an expiring NDA between Microsoft/343i and Bungie regarding their public release of next game information. Especially given a certain leak about Destiny's gametype familiarity I'd guess Bungie had to wait for Halo 4 to release publicly plus maybe give or take a few weeks/months. Now that the contract and Halo 4 have released we're most likely going to be either teased or seeing Destiny far more... *[i]crosses fingers I'm not speaking through my proverbial[/i] [Edited on 11.18.2012 9:50 PM PST]

People are a bit to harsh on the VGAs. They get better every year but still have a long way to go. We have to remember that anything on Cable TV will automatically be more "mass market" than what Bungie forum members would want from an award show. But does that automatically make it bad? Not for me. Zach Levi did awesome last year. An I was glad to see Felicia Day there but her segments were a bit too long and not as cool as I had hoped.
