Halo 4 made me realize that im not a halo fan; im a Bungie fan.

Halo 4 was, without doubt, not only the worst halo game, but one of the worst games I've ever had my displeasure of playing. Nothing about this game reminds me of a halo game. You could swap all the main characters with generic ones slap a different name on it and call it Space Spartan 4 and watch the horrible reviews roll in. (If you had the time.) I know some of you may disagree with me, but that is only because you have been fooled by the many reviews that tell you about the great story and epic engaging gameplay. I can assure you neither of these things exist in halo 4 and neither does any of the other things you've read. Halo 4's reviews were bought. That may sound stupid to you but it is the only logical conclusion I can come to as to why this game has received such regard. You may be thinking " no ive played halo 4 and it is not bad at all!" Well my dear friend its not your fault, but you are wrong; this is a bad game to its core. Halo 4 is as if a a 6 year old boy described halo over the phone to a team of very talented artists and designers and these people were contractually obligated to put what ever this six hear old said in the game. The Story: Plastic The Graphics: Plastic The Gameplay: Reach covered in plastic There is a positive side to this piece of -blam!-: Never before has a game made me appriciate the amazing works of art that is the bungie made halo series and I cannot wait for Destiny and whatever else will be made by Bungie. I could rant more but I'm too tired and no one really cares about my opinion anyway.

  • Only bad thing about Halo 4 was the MP. Halo 4 by far had the best story as it actually showed chief being more than human. The graphics are without a doubt the best. Spartan Ops was a cool concept (still prefer firefight). Also just so you know, a large portion of 343i were people who left Bungie, essentially they could be called a little brother who still lives with their single parent known as Microsoft

  • I feel the excact same way. Halo 4 is a peice of garbage. I decided I'll never play a new halo game again after that. When Bungie was making Halo it was the best game. I loved Halo 2 the most. The multiplayer was the best I think I've ever played. Surprised Destinys PvP is so unbalanced after what they achieved with Halo.

  • Dude what are you talking about? Halo 4 was one of my favorite Halos. You guys don't see that Halo is getting serious. Not saying they suck, but Halo CE was not serious, just the campaign of a killing machine. Then Halo 2 got interesting with Cortana being left behind. In Halo 3, it started getting emotional for Chief. He lost Miranda Keyes and Sgt. Johnson. In Halo 4, he starts to lose Cortana. Guys come on, they have to make it interesting. It's a new trilogy, there will be changes! I think 343 is doing a great job! And btw, have you seen the legendary ending for Halo 3? I would like you all that say that 343 made the story for Halo 4 and it was terrible.. Think again when you watch the VERY end of it. Bungie had plans for the Forerunner trilogy. Bungie handed it over to 343 with only a few ideas for the Forerunner trilogy and gave them 2 years. And remember they haven't made their own game till halo 4. Of course there were gonna be problems. And they say they are learning from their mistakes.

    • You are the -blam!-in judas of the halo series, have a little faith. It was 343's first attempt i'm not saying it didn't have any problems, but it is a good start for something great.

      • lets be honest there was absolutely 0 creativity in the campaign. the reason being b/c every level was ripped out of another halo game that bungie had did. I didn't have fun because i knew exactly what to do b.c i had done it before. promethans aren't a worthy enemy, all they require is a large amount of bullets to kill. At the same time elites were dumbed down from reach which sucks because the AI in reach was amazing. pelican and falcon mission are the exact same mission except they look different. lazy on 343 part. multiplayer has too many elements from other generic fps games which changes the fabric of halo. its no longer halo its call of halo as some are now calling it. this is why multiplayer numbers havent gone above 500,000 yet and will drop a lot after tonight bc of call of duty. Instant respawn ruins halo b/c it runs the pace of the game up so you are constantly dying b/c there is no time for your shields to recharge. loadouts aren't a problem if the pace of the game is slowed down. spartans ops has no replay value like firefight had. since they dropped firefight they should of kept scoring to add replay value tothe mode. Also you can die as much as you want which is stupid. in the end out of my group of friends, those who played halo from CE hate halo 4 because it is no longer halo. those who started with 3 and have only played 3, reach and now 4 love halo 4. they are not use to the slow paced halo style which has been abandoned in this game. halo 4 is a good game if you look at it as a game by itself away from the halo franchise. but when you look at it as a halo its garbage. much like resident evil 6 which is a fun game but when you think about all the other resident evils you go oh this isn't resident evil its -blam!-. halo 4 multiplayer will have a quick death like reach did unless 343 fixes the game quickly. in the end bungie will have the last laugh.

        • And why the -blam!- are there Campaign Challenges if you can't even get xp from campaign regularly? And just because they added Spartan Ops, they think removing Campaign Matchmaking is okay?

        • no offense, but i can't cut them slack for taking halo in a direction that i don't think will benefit the series. unfortunately unless i see halo 5 moving away from this new style of play, i will not purchase it but rent it instead, just for the story.

        • I went into Halo 4 with an open mind. By the time I had finished the campaign and Spartan Ops, I realized that I had not had any fun. No moments that stuck out in my mind. No memorable characters. No open areas for vehicle usage. No humor. It just wasn't fun for me. I won't list all the reasons. I think people have already listed many good points. If people enjoy Halo 4 then good for them. I expect more for my money. If this is an example of what 343 is going to give us, then this will be my last Halo game. I am eagerly awaiting what Bungie gives us next. I just hope they remember the fun factor. I miss talking grunts.

        • Also I feel the engine in Reach was far better, and there was a lot more detail in the models. Nothing was a painted texture up in Reach on that game. Where in Halo 4 textures barely render properly and the Draw distance is so minimal objects, scenery, and enemies barely render a few feet ahead of you. [Edited on 11.12.2012 7:40 PM PST]

        • While I personally loved Halo 4, I do admit that something felt different about it, though I can't really place my finger on it. It could really be psychological but I am not sure.

        • its better than reach. halo reach had a bad campaign story but i still enjoyed it. but not every game is a huge success you have your bad games and the good ones. i prefer halo than the rest of the shooting games like Call Of Dick because it tries something different to the rest ahhhhhh got Call Of Dick from a drunk guy from a party it was funny [Edited on 11.13.2012 12:11 AM PST]

        • 343 made to many changes to the game I'm saying this early but I think halo won't last as a primary game in my xbox. I don't enjoy matchmaking like before. I don't know maybe I'll change my mind but at the moment I have negative thoughts.

        • Halo 4 was good but not better than the other halo games. It didn't have a Halo feel to it. I don't like the new enemies in it. Chief looks way better in halo 3 and past Halo games. Btw, most of the helmets in Halo 4 are kinda ugly. I'm gonna stick to Reach. However, I'm gonna stay in 4 for awhile until I rank up and grab more armor. Halo Reach is possibly the greatest game I've ever played. It's got the best campaign and multiplayer. I can't forget all good and funny times playing infection. [Edited on 11.13.2012 5:00 AM PST]

        • I agree with you. Im a huge huge HALO fan and have been since HALO CE came out. HALO 4 is the first HALO game that i didnt reserve and didnt get on the midnight launch, instead i waited till the next day and rented it (thankfully i did that). I feel like 343 spit in my face and laughed at me, HALO 4 is so fu#%ing stupid, i hate it, what a CALL OF DUTY rip off game. I hate the CALL OF DUTY and MODERN WARFARE games, these games are made for players that dont know how to play FPS games. 343 made HALO 4 like these games so players can get there PERKS cause they need them to kill a REAL SKILLED HALO PLAYER. I would have never thought that HALO would become this :( The HALO franchise was a game that devoted alot of matchmaking games for me. When i first played HALO 4 it was a pretty damn sad day for me, it made me realize that HALO is done and crap now :( I am so upset about this that im ready to stop playing vids or buying the new NINTENDO and sell my XBOX 360. The way that 343 made HALO 4 would be like NINTENDO making MARIO games like SONIC THE HEDGEHOG so the SONIC fans would switch over to MARIO. THANX 343 i hate you!!! BUNGIE I AM YOUR BIGGEST FAN, PLEASE MAKE YOUR NEW GAME NOT LIKE THE COD OR MOW GAMES. MAKE IT LIKE YOU DID HALO PLEASE, (REAL SKILLED FPS PLAYERS).

        • I am so proud that someone has finally described the real "Halo 4", the game is absolutely terrible, I've played it myself and is by far one of the worst games with its storyline in my opinion. For the sake of gamers, the game is already dead; I had no words to describe how bad it was.. a massive remake basically. The ending did not make me cry like most of the gamers, but it really annoyed me just like it did throughout the campaign stages.

        • Wouldn't go as far as to calling it the worst game of all time, but I do agree with some of your opinions. No TrueSkill in the multiplayer, the story WAS mediocre, but I still liked the way they tried to bring some things back. It wasn't THAT bad. ...was it?

        • Are you sure you didn't just describe Reach? I'm a Halo fan (still am with Halo 4), and I am open to becoming a passionate Bungie fan again. But Bungie gave me some sour grapes with Halo: Reach.

The campaign was great, multiplayer was outstanding but the link provided will possibly change your mind for playing even another second after your done with sexifying your Spartan. •
Posted by: the real Janaka If we run with my allegory we'd have a trilogy where gameplay and engine remained the same. The story would however still be able to span through its entirety. The same rules in each and every game, no reimagination or redesign, just more levels and everything that drives the story. The trilogy would last for about six to seven years (alternatively switch between two titles, Christopher Nolan style), and when it was over, the developers could either make a spiritual successor if they weren't done with the concept, or aim for something completely new if they had tired; albeit for the moment. That is the foundation for the ultimate trilogy taken to its extreme. Personally I would allow for a certain level of tollerance. I'd allow its elements to be refined, not redefined. The developer could then focus on: telling the story in an as effective way as possible, level design, playtesting, and quality, and perhaps even quantity. Such a system would respect what already exists and seeing it through to its end, yet allow one to express whatever newfound creativity one might have gathered after a reasonable amount of time.
I think you're playing the wrong series. [Edited on 11.14.2012 4:17 PM PST]
