How did the other species of life survive?
How did all the species like the Prophets, Humans, Sanghelis and such survive the blasts from the Halo rings when the Forerunners set them off?

The species were placed on the Ark and were reseeded on their respective home-worlds after the array fired.

Halo: Legends has a chapter on this topic. The forunners in a way re seeded the life they destroyed after the flood got taken down by the Halos.

The Ark like somebody else said. If you don't know what the Ark is... You need to pay attention to the Halo 3 campaign at the VERY least.

If I am right, which is... probable... its the Ark (Installation 00) and/or the halo rings themselves. Their DNA was stored and then once the rings did their job, they reseeded life accordingly.
