What do you think would happen if the former Covenant client species attempted to recreate the Spartan IV program?
Would they be unstoppable? Would it be a failure? Would they be an equal match for a Spartan?
Get creative and imagine the possibilities.

They seem extremely frail.
That's a lifestyle choice that they choose (inactivity). Apparently way back when the Forerunners were around they were pretty muscular. Not buff like Brutes but well built. Afterwards they looked to elders for guidance and started to adopt inactive lifestyles. And with the Elites to protect them they had no reason to train their own warriors. [Edited on 10.08.2012 9:51 AM PDT]

I think Elites, Brutes, and Hunters are as strong, or even stronger than spartans. If you augmented any of those, it would probably be much stronger than a spartan. If I were a prophet wanting to do major damage, I'd send a drinol.

Perhaps without the modifications. Simply, make it a program that particular Elites can enter, best of the best. Then they rise through those ranks. It's like a Special Ops chain of Command.

Xenomorphs might as well be sangheili Spartans, but that's not quite the same thing.

Spartans have no definite Covenant equivalent. Zealots are very close. Arbiters are even closer. Some very lucky and/or efficient Majors can achieve greatness as well. But most Elites rely on numbers and straightforward, predictable approaches. Fact: Spartans are unpredictable Though they are disciplined, they do not always adhere to conventional tactics.
Posted by: Darth Ra 7365 Aren't Elites, Brutes, and Hunters somewhat equal to spartans?
I thought they were even more strong? It's just Hunters are worms in a suit, Brutes are dumb as nails, and Elites are basically the covenant version of a Spartan.

They would probably have an Elite, Brute, and a Hunter's DNA mixed together into a new Alien. I would call it Swagasaurase Rex

A spartan hunter, oh -blam!- me twice over.
Posted by: TheSpiderChief The Elites are already more than a match for the Spartans if not stronger in some cases.
The Spartan program happened to turn out to our benefit because humans were anatomically inferior to some of the bulkier or agile Covenant races, like Elites, Brutes, and Jackals. Frankly, if the Covenant applied a 'Spartan' program to any race, it would probably be Grunts. ... They'd kill the poor guys in the process, though.

Interesting concept....but I don't fancy facing Elites with the force-multiplying armor and augmentations. :P Mind you, Elite Combat Harnesses already have force multiplying tech, I believe. On a random related note, the Insurrectionists sometimes took Rumbledrugs, which were chemical cocktails which gave a human massively increased strength, agility and endurance for a short amount of time before they died of the side effects.
