Halo 2 Anniversary Confirmed
I was reading the August issue of Game Informer today, and I noticed something in the bite-size news section. It said 'There's a Halo 2 Anniversary Edition coming'. I know it's not a huge announcement, but I guess we can say it's been confirmed.

If anyone finds an article or any more information, please post it so I can make an addition to the OP.

2 RepliesIt's coming out along with Halo CE(Which for the first time has online MP for the Xbox.) Halo 3 and Halo 4 for the Xbone.

The multiplayer was buggy as -blam!- though. It was so gamebreaking that it became funny. And Bungie never fixed any of the bugs in it. And here is where 343 goes down the drain. I'll get it, even if there's no multiplayer. I'd love to see what some parts of Halo 2's campaign look like with modern-day graphics, like the underwater sections in Regret or the caves in the last two arbiter levels.

The multiplayer will probably be Halo 4 with some couple remakes from Halo 2.

If H2A is released using halo 4's MP then my theory on 343 redoing the trilogy with "new" halo games Multiplayer as a strawman to disprove the effectiveness of old trilogy sales points will have been proven correct.

There needs to be something to fill the gap between Halo 4 and Halo 5. If there is a Halo 2A in 2014, which probably means 2013 won't have a Halo game, then the gap between Halo 2A and Halo 4 will have been the longest since Halo 2 and Halo 3.

Not sure if [url=http://www.computerandvideogames.com/357467/343-not-currently-working-on-halo-2-anniversary/]this[/url] has been posted yet but I thought it was relavent. This article is about a month old so it's not referring to the rumor discussed in this thread but it means that 343 isn't working on it. Some might then suggest another company is working on it. I don't know how these things work, but I don't think 343 would kill the rumor now only to have it be announced later from a different company. Thoughts?

After I reached 42 in Halo 3 I honestly stopped caring about rank and played social for the rest of my Halo 3 career. I was actually on par with many of my friends who were 45s and 50s. Hell I was actually wanted by a group of 50s that one of my friends played with that wanted me to help them run ranked btb when it was still around. Also 8 person rumble pit was the worst implementation ever. If rumble pit stayed at 5 people I might have bothered to actually climb the ranks again.

It will probably be like CEA. Reskinned campaign in HD with a map pack of Halo 2 maps on Halo 4 multiplayer.

CEA was a disappointment to me and I wish I hadn't wasted money on it. Hopefully they get it right this time and include it's original multiplayer.
