Does intelligent life exist elsewhere in the universe?

After reading [url=http://io9.com/5918518/a-game+changer-for-the-search-for-alien-life-all-stars-have-planets]this[/url] article it had me thinking. Do you think there is intelligent life out there? Are we alone in this universe?
My personal belief is that there is some form of life out there in our own galaxy. As for intelligent life, I also believe this exists as well. The galaxy and the universe is too big for it not to be.

To think were the only form of intelligent life is just stupid. There is no way that out of everything in the galaxy were the only "smart" form of life.

The odds of there not being other life in such an infinitely expanding universe just doesn't make sense. Sadly. We will never get to see for ourselves. I'm sure there's other intelligent life thinking the same thing. [Edited on 06.19.2012 7:57 AM PDT]

I would say so. Even with Drake's equation which narrows it down a bit, I would say there should be some intelligent life spread out throughout our universe though a bit rarer than some think.

Do you really think I own my own USS enterprise to go out and prove it? Or anyone else on the flood? Sure I would assume it exists, but we bear little factual evidence so we can't confirm anything. [Edited on 06.19.2012 7:55 AM PDT]
