does waiting in the post game lobby help level up?
some of the people with yesterday were telling me to wait during the 20 second count down insteadof just leaving right away because they said that if you wait you level up quicker. is there any truth behind this?

To confirm... no, it isn't true. At all.

No, it doesn't change anything. The only reason to wait in the lobby is after a game with DNFs, as the game will register onto your account once the countdown hits 4, otherwise it may take a good amount of time for your rank to load.

I waited long enough and ranked up to 50. Good stuff.

No, it has never been proven that waiting in the post-game lobby helps you rank up. Ranking up is based solely on your own rank, whether you win or lose, and who you play with/against. I'm sure if you wait in the post-game lobby 10 times, you'll rank up at least one of those times, but you won't see a trend unless you choose to see one. [Edited on 06.02.2010 10:15 AM PDT]

Yes, this is a known fact. Somehow somebody found a cool glitch like this. Don't get frustrated when it doesn't work every time. It never always does.

Yes I think this is true. But I also think it will still rank up the same if you wait in the pre-game lobby. [Edited on 06.02.2010 10:23 AM PDT]
