There are no Xbox 360 launch titles that I'd buy the system to play
Don't get me wrong, I am buying the system the day it comes out. I have a lot of family in town that week with Thanksgiving and my youngest son's baptism. And I'm taking the week off from work. So, I figured what better to do on a week off than play a brand new console.
And I'll have fun. I'm sure I'll enjoy Project Gotham Racing 3 quite a bit. There will probably be some other good games. I'll buy about 20, or whatever is available the first day, just to make sure I have something worth playing.
But, to be perfectly honest, there is nothing coming out on launch day that I would buy the system just to play. I know that MS, and other losers, spin that launch titles are the whole first year. If so, than Oblivion and Gears of War look pretty good. If there's a Halo 3, awesome. But I am not buying a $400 system, to play Perfect Dark Zero and Kameo Elements of Power. In fact, if they weren't bundled with the system I wouldn't buy them at all.
Of course, I've bought and enjoyed other games that I didn't think I would. For example, I didn't bother picking up Halo until it was out for a couple of years. The cover art was just so lame. And the title was so generic. I thought why would I want to buy a game with goofy graphics and a non-descript title. Of course, I was wrong on both accounts. And, even if I'd been right, the gameplay would've been worth it.
So, I'm probably wrong about Xbox 360 as well. So, someone please educate me. What will I want to play on Xbox 360 the day it comes out? And, perhaps more importantly, what will everyone be playing on Live that night?

Well, seeing that no game(excluding PDZ) has a release date, IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO COME TO THAT CONCLUSION..............ass...

Actually I got the silver bundle from Gamestop. Then about $1,000 worth of games and accessories from EBGames. I had teh whole thing ordered on EB, then they renegged on the bundles. But, it's good. Because the GameStop bundle doesn't have Kameo, which I'm stearing clear of. Another frustrating thing is that the actual launch dates for the games seem to all be up in the air. I want to have at least a dozen games, 20 is even better, on the day the machine comes out. But I don't generally like to preorder. So, it was real frustrating coming up with an order. I ordered lots of stuff, but I have no idea when any of it is shipping. I looked at GameStop's Omega bundle. But it had things that I didn't need, like a wireless adapter, and things that I already have like Xbox Live. And, of course, I wanted to tweak the game selection. I found that a smaller bundle, and little more elbow grease was more useful. Also, a lot of people are misreding my email. I'm not saying that I'm not buying the system on day one. I am buying it. In fact I'm probably buying more games than most. I'm just a little perturbed that MS wasn't able to get a system seller for day one. So, I'll have fun with the system, for sure. But I may have more fun with the original Xbox for a while. Since most Xbox games will not even run on Xbox 360. Which, by the way, is pushing the component ports on my TV. I may even have to toggle the cables between the Xbox and Xbox 360. Hopefully 360 does the DVD surround sound and file formats right this time. If so, I can drop the DVD player out of the mix. This probably sounds ridiculous, but I really wish that MS and some of these major corporations would consult with me before they go off and make mistakes.

It is $2000 but it has everything you could want. Personally, I think I'll buy the 360 on lauch along with Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and Perfect Dark Zero; I don't have too much money and i'll ask for other games for Christmas.

IMHO, the 360 has a better line up than the original did. When I bought my first XBOX in Dec '00 or '01 (whatever year it came out - I can't remember anymore) there were only a handful launch titles and I hadn't heard of most of them. I bought DOA3 with my Xbox because I didn't know much about Halo (I did buy Halo a week later after playing it a friend's house) and it was the only one that looked good. With the 360 there are several games I want to buy at launch. Quake 4, DOA 4 & Full Auto will be getting my full attention for quite awhile.

Your probably going to enjoy Ghost Recon the most. Look around,man.Those arent the only games coming out at launch. Plus,theres a ton of games that`ll be on shelves by Xmas.

I recently play Jade Empire and liked that a lot. I liked Halo 2 a lot. ESPN NFL 2k5 and Rallisport Challenge 2 are two of my all time favorites. Fuzion Frenzy is probably the game that has had the most gaming time at my house. As I understand there are no party games at launch. No Halo 3 at launch. No Morrowind at launch. ESPN 2k series doesn't exist anymore. No Rallisport at launch. I'll tell you this though, if someone wants to get started on production of such a game. I really liked the driving in Rallisport Challenge, the shooting and loadouts in the Rainbow Six series, and the quests in something like a Jade Empire, and maybe a cutesy pie story like something like a James Bond game. And it has to have awesome graphics and coop. I don't know if anyone can make a game like that. Also allow that game to be expanded by Xbox Live downloads. I'd easily pay $99 and buy the system and the Live account for a game like that. I'm actually buying all this stuff anyway. But I'm feelign kind of played. Because I see that the content isn't there yet. And I know Bill Gates has tons of money. So, I don't see hwy MS needs funding frmo me to keep there console moving. I don't know, I guess I just think that the original Xbox had a much better launch. It was a serious piece of hardware for the time. It had some great innovations. It had numerous great day one titles. I just felt a lot better about that launch than this 360 launch. I'm probably totally wrong. This is all just my impression.

What exactly are you looking for? What genre do you prefer most? I like the Ghost Recon series, and I remember having a great time with the original Perfect Dark game. After having read articles on these two games, I definitely look forward to both. But, they are FPS style games and are my prefered stock. If you cannot find anything that interests you, maybe you are burned out on gaming. It happens, just take a break over the month of October.
