halo 2 mp characters?
i know that in multiplayer it has been confirmed that mc's and elites will battle it out but has any word of if brutes or marines will be playeable.

I have also read those exact things that jumpmaster is talking about.... I see halo2 stuff all the time on game magazines (official xbox mag is the best).

That's right, there's nothing wrong with choosing what type of game you want. Whether it be the standard Human vs. Covenant wars, or the old fasioned Red vs. Blue battles. By the way, as for that one guy that started getting all pissed, I never meant to insult you so just relax a bit.

I've gotten the Idea that some people think there might only be Human vs. Covie, it will probably be a play type, because all of the multiplayer screenshots, have shown the traditional Red MC's vs. Blue MC's. And the word about Human Covie vs has been all over for a long LONG time! so i think it will happen. [Edited on 4/13/2004 5:29:43 PM]

MC vs Elites could add for some interesting gameplay experiences. Traditional mutliplayer though will be more enjoyable for me at least. Multiple team (as some people have speculated) also adds to the mayhem which is interesting.

Jumpmaster.... obviously YOU havent been listening to Bungie. I dont care if magazines have mentioned Covenant vs. Human battles, BUNGIE hasnt. If you show me the article that comes from Bungie confirming this, I'll eat my hat, with my head in it.

You guys obviously have not been reading up on Halo 2. There's so many magazine articles confirming Covenant vs. MC battles on multiplayer. On EGM's November 2002 issue they covered the issue: (-begin quote-) Bungie will be able to stop drooling and we can start: Halo 2 will feature online battles between Masterchief characters on one side and Covenant Elite soldiers on the other. The plan is for online to support "at least" 12 to 16 players(so I'm guessing they want more). It'll be nothing less than the total online war Bungie originally envisioned."( -end quote-)

I doubt that they will do Covie v. MC's. I expect it to be Red v Blue. Maybe Red v. Blue v. (color)

I doubt the elites would drive warthogs and smgs they would probly be limited like they only can use ghosts and Wraiths and for the weapons they could only use plasma . Any way i hope they have elites in mp

If they add elites as playable characters, do you think they will beable to jump as high in multiplayer like in single player?

I hope you can ply as elites...but wouldn't it be wierd to play as an elite in a warthog? or be an elite and use a SMG? lol.

i hope its what ppl have been sayin with elites an stuff, yet if it is that I hope that u can edit it not 2 b all of that in the game options, cuz it'll get pretty annoying after a lil while

They've been talking about convenant vs human battles alot for MP. I'm pretty sure that you can act as covenant, marines or hopefully the monitor(indestructable lol).

It says covenant vs humans because you can add in elites grunts jackles etc. to fight, but only rumores about playing as an elite. [Edited on 4/13/2004 3:35:57 PM]

there's no word out that you can even get 16 players online... So far the only comfirmed numbers are that of which is shown in the multiplayer pictures (that's why I think OXM put 8, because that's the most MC's in a pic we've seen so far).

Im guessing Only Elites and MCs, and the limit will probably be 32 players, thats the limit for most modern games. -EDIT- Oh, how we were wrong. Why did we ever think that H2's netcode would be able to handle more than 16 people? [Edited on 7/10/2005]

Nothing official so far. Anything you have heard about the playable elites are just rumors. Unless you hear it from frankie or someone from the bungie team, its all rumors.
