My friend, the suicidal maniac. And his car.

Ok. Picture this. Your friend, a known manic depressive who seems unusually hyper today, invites you over for a some Halo 2 matches. You agree and get in his car, but you've hardly closed the door when he reverses onto the road, pedal pressed to the floor. He does a swerving skid that leaves long tyre marks on the road, then speeds off. It's dark, there's no traffic, and he's on third gear already. Jumping the traffic lights, he shifts up a gear. 60mph already. 65. 70. The car jumps as the gear goes up again. 80. 90. A single car passes, horn blaring as he swerves out of the way. Your friend then decides to start laughing and swerves the car across lanes repeatedly, making the radio jump. At least he slows down for the corner, scraping the curve at 60mph. Finally he reaches his house. I STILL PWNED HIS ASS!!! But seriously, this happened to me yesterday. All of it. Any experiences that put your life in danger, post it here.

 •
Posted by: Socialist I cant afford a car. And I am scared of the roads.
I was too. Keyword: Was. Then I started driving. Almost immediately it got fun... now I can't get enough of it. I don't even have a fast car. Only a minivan, a '73 F250 (That thing is a beast, though), and my little '83 civic.

 • well me and my friend got a crazy idea of making his go-cart into a warthog, complete with a potato cannon on the back. We added a 15 HP motor, total HP 20. Well the cannon was mounted on the back, and he only place to stand if you were the gunner was the frame behind the motors. Well after taking the goveners off the motors to achieve highest speed possilbe, we took it for a ride around the neighborhood. Much to my shagrin, the brake had to fail THAT day, and doing a good 60 MPH when to only thing you have to holdon to is a PVC pipe duct taped to a bar of metal and the grip of your shoes. My friend, being high on pixy sticks at the time (really, if you sniff them like crack, crazy -blam!-) decided that the best way to slow down is jerk the wheel back and forth. Well, it turns out that a very attractive girl from my school was watching, and she saw me vainly jump off the back of a speeding go-kart and try to regain balance. I hit the ground and immeadiatly tried to run as fast as i could, but it was in vain and i tripped, skidding a good 20 feet face down on assphalt. regardless, it was pretty fun, but my potato gun got ruined and i went to the hospital for some stiches. PS: I added in the part of the hot girl watching cause the minute i fell off and stopped skidding, she came rushing to my side, gotta love that female hospitality. ;)

 • I remember, a year or so ago, my older brother had fixed his old moped, and offered me the chance to ride it. Bad idea. I went about I dunno, wasn't paying too much attention to the MPH thingy, but id say 80 miles an hour. You wanna know why I say that? Everything around me looked like a colored blur except the moped and myself, I went back inside (This was on our street) and the adrenline was really pumping for about 10 minutes, and so was my heart. Gosh that was scary. From now on, i'm sticking to snowmachines for that type of vehicle! [Edited on 3/10/2005 6:53:26 PM]

 • On the way to the beach a while back my buddy was doing about 110 passing multiple cars on a 2 lane road. Not so bad until you see a dump truck coming out of the trash dump ahead. Yeah, needless to say there are now indentions of my fingertips in his dash now.

 • Call the police on those people. Report them, do everything you can. No amount of 'friendship' should remove your ability to protect them and everyone endangered by them.

 • Nothing nearly as bad, but once i was visiting my friend's grandfather with him. His grandfather ofered to give us a lift to the sation when we left. He drove round a residential area at 50 mph. First time i have ever been scared in a car. I was pressing myself into the car seat in some vain attempt to gain safety.
