Wears a -blam!- costume + armband to a costume party. Just saw it on the news, kind amusing, no offense goweb or any one else in the UK (just in case).
Edit: -blam!- = former fascist political party before and after WWII, begins with "N" and ends with "I"

I think everyone kinda overreated. if anyone other then a famous person had worn a -blam!- uniform to a costume party no one would have paid any mind to it.

Its a political topic, shouldnt even be here. But seeing as it is, go ahead!
Posted by: Vella
Posted by: Smoke604 So Reginko, you actually support the idea that we are all plebs and underlings, who have no right to oppose a system that basically says "This family is better than everyone else, and you will worship them and call them 'Majesty'", just because they were born into it?
All your rights are in the constitution, the royal family cannot infringe on them.
I know that, what I said was regarding the idea or concept of monarchy. Call me strange if you want, but I do not want to be considered a 'subject' of the 'rightful monarch elected by god' or any of that -blam!-. I am a free person, and just because I was born in England does not give that dried up old skank known as the Queen the right to consider me and my family her 'subjects'. I have had many an argument with pro-monarchists in my time, and every single one of them has given across the opinion that members of the monarchy are better than the 'common people', and that it is completely fair for them to get all the benefits and respect they get, just because they descend from someone who ruled the country 500 years ago. The idea of a class or a caste system disgusts me- we are all equal, and have equal rights, and that includes no preferential treatment for a certain family. Edit: And this is all I will say on the matter- I have made my point, and do not want to carry on and end up getting my ass banned for being too political. [Edited on 1/14/2005 8:31:26 AM]

The Royals still have some stupid powers, the Queen once over ruled a court decision and kicked some Islanders off their Island..long story.

The reason so many people in the UK where P***** OFF is because the royal family is infact german, if a german walked around with a -blam!- insignia on their arm people would get mad right? Also its disrespectful, seriously, people died in WW2. Stupid royal family.... P.S Political thread!

Before I feel the need to lock this thread because of the political content, I have a few things to say. Skip these next three paragraphs if you're not interested in political systems (ie you are an idiot): Firstly, you guys obviously don't know what you're talking about when it comes to the Constitutional Monarchy system of government. As an Australian, she's my Queen too, and it's the best darn democratic system around - republicanism is not cool. The main reason Constitutional Monarchy is such a good system is that it is so stable. Let's take Australia as an example. In our more than a hundred years of existence as a single nation, we've had only one major political crisis, which occurred in 1975. Now, I won't go into the details, but basically, the Opposition had a majority in the Senate, and was refusing to allow the government to pass its budget. Public opinion had turned against the Labor government, and by convention, the PM Gough Whitlam should have called an election, however, he refused to, which was technically constitutionally sound. Anyway, with a major economic crisis looming as a real possibility, the Governor General (the Queen's Australian representative, don'tcha know, who's appointed by the parliament - NOT elected) stepped in and sacked the government. This was the first time anything like this had happened (and hasn't happened since) in the Australian federal government (but it had happened in the state of New South Wales in the 30s I think). There was at first a bit of an outcry that an appointed official should dismiss a democratically elected government, but overall, most people came to agree that he'd made the right decision, and the Liberal opposition was overwhelmingly elected to government in the election that took place afterwards. Anyway, what the most important thing here is that the G-G was reluctant to use his executive power, only as a last resort, because he wasn't an elected official. If the G-G (or president, or whatever) was democratically elected in Australia, then he'd suddenly have a real mandate to use his powers, and thus wouldn't have any qualms about dismissing a government. This would in turn lead to instability, as there would be power struggles between the PM and the G-G/President. This is not good for a country. So anyway, maybe you should think before you start bagging Constitutional Monarchism. It's a damn good system. Now, on to Prince Harry and the -blam!- outfit. All I can say that he's obviously thicker than two short planks. To wear a -blam!- costume to a party indicates a frivolous disregard for and absolutely no understanding of the horrifying acts of the -blam!- party during the Holocaust. I'm not suggesting he's a -blam!- sympathiser, far from it. The point is that he obviously has no conception of what the holocaust was like, and the fact that most of you guys think that it's "OK" demonstrates that you too don't really understand what it all signifies. It shows that he's an insensitive prick who doesn't put any thought into any actions. He deserves all the condemnation the press can delliver, and then some. - Reiginko

Yea i heard about it to.Its kinda funney how the world is reacting to it.Thank you prince Harry for proveing my theory that most if not all pop icons are idiots.

And for a country with a constitutional Monarchy, why do we need our examples set by a Royal family that has next to no power over the country? Just something to think about....
Why do we need a royal family at all? A bunch of inbred arseholes who are born into a position of privelidge just because an outdated mode of rule that should've ended centuries ago. Cromwell had the right idea....
-
Aye. All I can say is that I'm glad that there's finally a royal who's showing some sort of personality, regardless of the ...indescretion exhibited here.
-
Yeah, I think people have taken to overreacting a bit these days. A costume party is not a German Socialist Workers meeting. I think. Perhaps if Harry starts going on about Jews or some equally rascist and unlikely thing, there will be cause to worry. Charles wants to send him to Auschzwitz (wrong spelling, methinks) too... crazy Royals. ...I cant believe they -Blam!ed- out -blam!-... [Edited on 1/14/2005 2:26:56 AM]
