LFG vs Matchmaking
Soooo Bungies thinking is that Matchmaking would provide a bad experience for those wanting to do the raid. I get that. However how does having to go to another source to find someone that wants to raid any better? Usually I have a group of friends so I don't resort to that, but the other day we were a few guys short. So we try and go through another source. After waiting 5-10 mins for a response, we find out the guys a total -blam!-wad and if things weren't done his way, he cussed out many of my friends and called us -blam!-.
Booted.
Tried again, we wanted to have fun and have a few laughs, not be berated with insults. Another 5-10 mins we get another guy. Wasn't too bad, he was kind of cool at first, but then... Insults and quit.
Ok. We get it were not hardcore raiders. We just want to have fun.
Tried again. Another 5-10 mins of waiting for a response. And we finally get some chill guys that didn't care if we weren't gud. We had some laughs and a good old time.
So it took nearly an hour to get situated. I'm not saying that matchmaking would change anything or is the answer to everyone's problems, but it certainly would save time from having to go to some website, make a post and hope someone sees it.
Edit: It would also be nice to at least have the option for matchmaking. Some people are too lazy to go and look for people... Like me.

As far as I am concerned LFG and raid matchmaking are the same thing. or more accurately LFG is a form of raid matchmaking. They both provide matching up with a random group. Either way there needs to be some raid matchmaking option in game.

So it's more complicated than just "adding the option." Group finder is superior in every way. Let's you find a group playing solo, let's you create one, let's you fill quickly if someone drops out. It would be far faster than using a website because it's in game. MM theoretically does these things but considering the epidemic of afk or otherwise unhelpful players in strikes... the very situation you described is exacerbated by mm. Lfg just works better.

They should go ahead and put a match maker for every game mode. For us solo players even being paired with the worst players on earth is better than trying to do friendship farming when your not playing all the time.

I have no doubt the [i]only[/i] reason Bungie hasn't implemented Raid matchmaking is because they know that would lead to a lot more of us finishing said Raid, which would lead to a lot more of us recognizing this game has shit for content.

1 ReplyThis is a very frequent topic and I don't see how a matchmaking OPTION would be in any way unbalancing. I would use it for nightfall and weekly heroic, but not a raid. It would be insane if everyone couldn't communicate. But I don't see how the option to do it harms anyone that chooses to not use it.

1 ReplyId still choose this forum to look for people. Maybe not every team on this forum you join is brilliant but at least you can look for players with specific things your looking for. You might need someone with a Gjallarhorn for Crota CP and looking on here you can get what need. With matchmaking you might get paired with people who have no clue what they are doing and people who are trying to use unlevelled weapons which have no chance. Ill stick to LFG.

2 RepliesHard crota. Putting together a team. Need a good sword runner. A 32 hunter that knows the invisible punch method. Looking to do the rocket launcher middle ledge method with the right ogre room. I have 1 ghallajorn already. Need 3 more ghallajorn 32. First come first serve. Did crota hard 6 times last week using this method, bubble method, and regular method. 3x first day. If your the 4th to join and we don't have the sword runner it's nothing personal but you'll be booted. And if you just suck. GT - ObliteraSean.
