The "No Land Beyond" You Do Want

We all want this weapon to be viable. Right? Yes we do Ender. But we don't want another weapon to fall victim to the crucible crowd as the Vex Mythoclast did. Right? Exactly. Ok then here is what you do (I'm looking at you Bungie). -Increase the impact to 35 -Replace the "Mulligan" perk with the following "Guardian's Lance - This weapon ignores the shielding of minions of the Darkness" - Edit "The Master" Perk to read and function as follows " The Master - Increased precision damage. Kills briefly increase bolt action speed. And that's it. You do that Bungie, and the weapon will be viable in PvE yet unbroken in PvP If you disagree, feel free to respond. And bump it up if you think Bungie should address this.

  • They need to fix the glitch where ammo hardly drops for the weapon.

  • I think it should have a master perk as, armor piercing, precisions return two shots, shield piercing and crowd control. First perk should be outlaw. Semi perks, impact, scout, reload

  • And add more ammo when used in the primary slot

  • The only perk it needs is "be gone" - removed from nightfall reward xur loot table and raid rewards.

  • I would like No Land Beyond as a special weapon. My only issue with the gun is that it takes up a primary spot, and simply isn't effective as a weapon to deal with multiple enemies. The perk reads that it CAN be used as a primary weapon, so why is there no option to use it as a secondary instead? I like the idea of an iron sight rifle in this game, but since it takes a primary slot your only options are to carry another sniper, shotgun or fusion rifle with it :/ I think a lot of complaints would be addressed this way. I'd love to see your changes to the perks too.

    • Increase bolt action speed by a frame or one second Replace mulligan with outlaw Replace lightweight with perfect balance Replace Flared Magwell with armor piercing rounds Leave The Master as is. Hidden talent: Take a knee.

    • Reduce the magazine to 1 bullet and increase the reserve to 32. Increase the reload speed. Remove Mulligan and replace it with the Last Round perk. Change The Master to "Increased precision damage. After each precision hit, this weapon will reload instantly and increase damage on the next shot."

I'd rather have unflinching in place of mulligan. Also, I prefer the current damage bonus from "the master" rather than a rof bonus. I personally think it needs: -massive impact buff to make it the most powerful sniper -Unflinching instead of mulligan -more reserve ammo -Slightly less zoom (10-15% less) -Built in armor piercing rounds

    • I like the change to the master perk but ignoring shields is a little crazy. I would also get ride of the scope glare when you aim the weapon. If you haven't noticed it doesn't have a scope, so it doesn't make a lot of sense for light to reflect off of what is essentially an iron sight and travel down range a hundred meters or so.

    • Dang, ignore shields? That's a little OP. Definitely need a buff on the impact though.

    • But seriously Bungie, No Land Beyond is a weapon many people would get a kick out of playing with, it just looks so... out of place. It's a charming weapon, but unfortunately, is probably the worst sniper rifle in the game. Do something, anything to make it better, and I'm sure it will please a lot of people.

    • How about a better idea: Make it a heavy weapon. Same bolt speed, but max impact. 3 round clip, and you pick up 3 shots with each heavy drop. It should do more damage than Gjallarhorn. Done. Fixed it.

      • NLB needs these: -Replace Mulligan with Unflinching -Edit "The Master" to bolt rounds in faster after a kill AND increase precision damage for a short time -like OP pointed out- -No sway when you move with that sniper, that just gets annoying when you move an inch and sway goes haywire -18-24 rounds in reserve Otherwise aside from impact damage needing a buff as well, it's a nice throwback sniper.

      • All the gun needs is a little more reserve ammo. It's a throwback gun. That's the point. Bare bones. Feels like I'm using the mosin nagant again from CoD World at War which is awesome. NLB is super fun as it is. Kill something, duck behind cover as u chamber another round, pop up and kill again. Or stand there (like an idiot) and have your aim right where u want it and pull the trigger while you're chambering a round and it fires as soon as it's in. U can also switch to your secondary or heavy and come back and you have a round chambered. If you don't like the gun, don't use it. Scrap it for a shard rather than asking for a buff. That's like getting a car that gets 25mpg and asking the dealer to make it get 40mpg instead. And stop saying WE!

        • I personally think it should be the highest impact sniper in the game, and maybe have a little less range. Like is my guardian squinting as hard as he can when I ADS?

        • If the gun can shoot threw shields then increasing the impact might make it too OP. I love the rest of the ideas.

        • Bump but your "Guardian's Lance" perk sounds overpowered. Everyone would suddenly ONLY use NLB.

        • The reserve ammo capacity would have to be greatly increased as well. Maybe have a total of 24 rounds (not just 24 when you die, but all the time). Also then change the pickup rate from 3 to 6. Currently my LDR 5001 does 7000 damage on a Roc Goblin and the NLB only does 3500 (4000 after a kill). By the time I max out the NLB it will probably only do ~4500 precision damage and 5000 Master damage. The NLB also only holds 12 rounds where my LDR has 15.

That's pretty close, I don't disagree with the sentiment, but I think I have a better way to balance it.. . Mulligan isn't a bad perk, assuming it puts the bullet right back into the gun, because that means sometimes, you can fire twice. If it even procs 10-20% of the time, that'd be useful. Perhaps the master perk could make it proc more often as well mulligan almost never works. If it worked like that, it'd be useful and wouldn't require 2 unique perks on the gun. I think minions of darkness shields should only be overcome with raid weapons. THAT being said, the gun does have the feel of a gun that can overpenetrate, it needs to have high calibur rounds and armor piercing rounds on it's middle tree of 3 perks, it can keep the snapshot as that also fits the gun well. Lastly, remove the freaking lense glare and reduce the zoom a touch.
