Would it be smart to have a player of each class?

Just wondering

    • The problem, for me atleast, is that we only have three character slots and I'm not going to waste a slot on a class I don't like.

    • I have one of each, I feel like im getting 3 times the gameplay that way. Same with borderlands 2 I have at least 1 of each character so my game lasts me a hell of a lot longer.

I have 2 hunters and a titan. The titan is a must have, everyone likes them. I feel like warlocks rely on self rez too much and hunters have the worst jump.

SOME people play three characters of the same class and vault the Armor between them... they even delete a character and speed level a new one so they can Nightfall & Weekly four times a week. I have one of each... a Titan & Warlock @31 and a Hunter who'll be 31 by tomorrow... I just need a little more Glimmer and some Sapphire Wire. I like playing all three... it keeps things fresh and fun... especially in the Crucible (haven't taken my Hunter in yet). Having one of each Class makes all the Class specific loot drops good NO MATTER WHAT... and you'll never hear me complaining about what class my Exotic Armor Engrams turn into. IF you make good use of your Vault while playing your primary & secondary characters, you should have a full set of Legendary Armor (and maybe an Exotic or two) for your tertiary character by the time he/she hits level 20. Vault ALL of your Strange Coins and Motes of Light into one big pool for Xûmas... it makes things easier when you only have to "shop" once.

      • It depends on the time you have for the game. If you play it alot and have the time to lvl up all your toons then yes. Also with rng as it is you end up getting armor for all three classes anyway. If you're time poor then 2 or 3 of the same class will get you more "rewards", you can do nf, weekly, dailys 3 times and have exptics rain down on you. I personally am time poor but went for the 3 different classes for the variety. My 2nd is just about high enough to do the nf solo so maybe some good drops this reset. Hope this helps.

      • I like the variety of all three and if you are experienced at all three you can help out less experienced players on your fire team to get the most out of their toon, which likely helps your whom team.

3 different classes is how real destiny players do it.

        • It would actually. This is so that when you get exotic armor engrams. you don't rage because you don't have a character that can use it.

          • 3rd subclass Also if you're still playing Destiny when Destiny 2 comes out, you'll be able to transfer your characters and hopefully the characters will have new abilities and new perks.

            • It would. Made all three different, deleted my other two. Regretted that, so now remaking Warlock and Titan. Nice to have variety.

            • I like it. Some variety and random gear can be given to right class.

            • well, it's fun, and any random gear you get for a different class can just be passed to them instead being I'm a ______ and got helmet for a ______ etc etc

            • It really depends I made 3 of the same character to get 26 strange coins a week. But if you are interested in all the perks on the other characters that's the go.

            • I can only really see myself making a Titan as a support to my main hunter, I just don't really find playing a Warlock fun, but I guess its all about how you enjoy playing

            • I think it's the most enjoyable. Each class had unique perks and drawbacks. It's fun to mix it up

            • Yes, took me 5 weeks of CE raids to get all to 32 from 30/30/27 at time of DLC. The 31 vanguard gear will be a must, to avoid grinding the new atls through VoG drops. It's definitely harder but also much more enjoyable - breaks up the monotony. Has nothing to do with me doing it, but I respect those who don't do multiples more.

            • I do. They can all be 31 too. It takes a lot of time to get them all through the raid each week, so they are all stuck there. But the game is repetitive enough. At least this way I get to experience all sub classes and play with all powers. I don't think I could take having 2 or 3 hunters. That doesn't sound fun to me.

              • I think that one of each is the most fun way to play the game. Plus, you're ready for anything that the game may throw your way in the future (jus think Bladedancer and the Crota's End lamps). If you're wanting the most efficient path to level cap, three characters of the same class is certainly the way to go.
