... so easily. Vendors seem to be rather underwhelming in this game. Here's how Bungie could fix their vendor system: All vendors that sell armor only sell up to light level 26 armor when your faction rank is 2. To get light level armor that will take you higher than 26, you need a higher faction rank. For example, rank 5 of any faction could sell up to 31 gear. The highest level light gear will always have to be obtained through raids, but when a new light level and raid comes out, gear that brings you up to the old light level will be sold by vendors... assuming you have reached high enough rank. Light level gear will still be rewarded randomly from raids. However, levels will not be so easy to get now, and a light level can be more representative of how long people have spent in this game. Also, the Cryptarch rank should also have effects. For example, at Cryptarch rank 15, perhaps he could start selling blue engrams. And At Cryptarch rank 50, he could sell Legendary engrams occasionally. These engrams would cost more, and perhaps there could be a limit to how much you can buy. For example, you can only buy up to 5 Legendary Engrams a week.
