Hard light question. Does it shoot through all shields in the game? I.E. Cabal shields, elemental shields, etc.... Thanks for the input.

I feel so bad for everyone that wants it. I got it twice from vog exotic chests

Bump: Just got Hard Light Is it worth using/upgrading? (No Vex and no Suros)

It doesn't shoot through anything, but it's ricochet rounds will stagger enemies if you shoot at the ground near their feet, this is especially useful for cabal phalanxes.
-
Sorry, but it doesn't. Only through regular enemies.

It doesn't shoot through shields, but it's a lot of fun to use. PVE I bust it out when being efficient really doesn't matter (weekly heroic, patrol etc). I used it in ib, it worked well when up close and personal. It's even better in regular crucible due to its high rate of fire, and semi decent impact.

No. Just has standard AP effect. Most exotics aren't very exotic :c

No, it can't shoot through Cabal Shields, any of the Elemental Shields (As in, it can't bypass them and damage the enemy directly. It does the same damage to Elemental Shields as any other Primary that does Kinetic Damage.), or the Titan's Ward of Dawn bubble. However, that doesn't mean it isn't worth using. It's a great Primary, best in it's class for the higher Rate of Fire, but decent Impact Auto Rifles (Like the Up For Anything and For The People), with slightly higher Impact and good Stability when fully upgraded. It's just that you shouldn't look to use it purely for it's exotic perk. Ricochet's are unreliable but nice if and when they actually hit something, and being able to penetrate multiple enemies is nice when dealing with a horde.

What the Hard Light does...it's like all other non elemental weapons in the game, against element shielded enemies it'll do reduced damage than the correct elemental weapon. It does not penetrate the cabal phalanx shields, those are immune to all fire except burn abilities from grenades and certain melee's. What the over penetrating perk does is if you have a wave of thralls a single bullet will go through a couple of enemies. Granted each enemy pierced in succession will do reduced dmg...but some is better than none. I'd dare say it's better than the fate bringer in terms of close quarters with many enemies.

Another note about hard light: it's range really sucks, and it has no effect on titan's shields.
