Faction rank ups- Unreasonable rewards
In the past 2-3 weeks ive ranked up new monarchy and dead orbit roughly 10 times, which means 10 reward packages.
10 rewards
-one helmet(garbage)
-one hunter cape
~ handful of motes energy/shards
15 days of bounties raids nightfall iron banner and way too many roc strikes.
Personally I think faction rank ups are the hardest thing to achieve in this game, harder than raids nightfalls or even the stupid weekly heroic without a burn. I think there should be some kind of weapon or armor for them. I would trade 3 commendations for a stupid legendary weapon engram and im sure most of you vets would too.
Im not saying we shoukd always get something great, but ive only gotten one shader from about 50 rank ups, and maybe 2 useful weapons.
What does everyone think?

I finally got Revenant on Tuesday, but I am Rank 70 combined if that tells you something. I have one hanged man, two bittersteels and one ship as well. It should not have been that hard. They should definitely have milestones, such as: Rank 5 The Nowhere Rank 15 Bittersteel Rank 30 Hanged Man Rank 40 Fermi Solution Rank 50 Revenant That way I can explore the other shaders on other factions and feel comfortable not ranking up Dead Orbit anymore. Ranking up should be a bit faster too. It'll also tell people that hey, I spent this long to get this thing, so I'm pretty awesome.

I think they should implement milestone rank rewards, like getting a shader at rank 10, a special emblem at rank 50, etc. Also wish we could turn in the commendations we get for other things besides weapons and helmets/chests. A package of ascendant materials would be a good start.

FWC has been kind to me. In the last week, I've gotten Carthage 0100, Sigil of the Eternal Night, Sigil of the War Cult, Sigil of the War Cult II, the Conduit, the Chosen, and the Cure.

1 ReplyThere needs to be more bloody reputation for factions Should be at least 25 points for patrol missions and 45 for the VIP kill missions. 50 for a strike, 150 for a daily mission 12 and 32 XP or whatever it is is unreal. That's not enjoyable gaming

I don't understand why Bungie is under the impression that I'm grinding for my faction in the hopes of an emblem. Because I'm not. Why the -blam!- would I grind a week's worth of bounties to be rewarded an emblem?

1 ReplyYeah. I hit 30 for New Monarchy and got a whole ascendant shard for it. Maybe for each rank up you get a .25% (maybe less? Maybe more? I'd say it caps out over time at around 35% total) chance increase for better loot or faction specific rewards like shaders, ships, and maybe special emblems not for sale.
