  • What auto rifles need is less fire rate and more impact, like my good ol' Shadow Price

    • The time to kill on almost all auto rifles in its optimum range (mid) is much lower than most fusion rifles and hand cannons which has deemed them pretty useless in pvp apart from the suros. There is an argument to make that the ease of use with auto rifles would compensate for the lack of damage but actually I think hand cannons and fusion rifles are just as easy to use after you get the hang of their mechanics. due to this I think they really do need a buff to the state that some with the right perks can be cometitive but the question is how to do that without making them op. One suggestion is to have slightly higher impact low rate of fire autos but with a range cut off so you can be more effective getting headshots as precision shots do more damage. Another option maybe is auto rifles having better accuracy perks few range perks and then finding that sweet spot with the impact stat. Seems like a good middle ground

    • Auto rifles are fine, it's the pulse rifles that need work. They are and have always been useless. They should be a bridge between scouts and ar's but they don't do enough damage at all.

      • Beta player. Get used to your primary. If you use it to its strengths (and your characters eg. Titan+low impact auto rifle = face destroying fun) it will bring you success. I found with auto rifles you want stability perks.

        • No pulse rifles need a -blam!-ing impact buff. Why do all them suck so much ass? The new raid one has lower impact then the new raid auto rifle what kinda bullshit is that?

        • I wish they would lower the fire rate and increase impact because the current auto rifles are worth nothing more than ascendant energies.

        • I agree with the nerf. It shouldn't have been applied to PvE content though. ARs are all but useless after the nerf. It switched me to hand cannons and SR.

          • Not sure if you remember, but auto rifles were nerfed in beta and then again post release. They were being used by almost everyone. There's a better balance now. I will say that they need to bring back the lower rof, higher impact autos.

            • I think they should just add more low rate of fire, high impact auto rifles. Like shadow price. Now there aren't any guns like that.

            • I don't know... I just find it weird that one auto rifle (suros regime) is sooooo much more powerful than all of the others. Monte Carlo and Hard Light can not win against one, or even come close. It's just amazing that Bungie did something like that.

              • High impact = higher impact, more stable rifles With average rates of fire. Low impact = Fast fire rate, high mag size, less stable, more hits to kill.
