Petition for alternative way to reach the level cap and/or aquire exotic

In my opinion the idea that completing the raid should be the only way to get to the maximum level is just a bad idea. The immediate results are: - People focusing only in completing raids (and weekly events once a week) - People playing 2 days a week, because then it's not worth it. - No main reason to play PvP (except for fun) - All players look the same. In my opinion the raid should be a way to get amor and weapons that are particularly focused on fighting that kind of enemy, with special perks, ecc. But there should be many other way to get gear of value. First possible idea that comes to my mind: Legendary bounties: as the exotic bounties, there should be legendary bounties to get to armor to get the maximum level. As it happens for the exotic bounties, with the only difference that legendary bounties are characterized by easier quest but that require quite a lot of time to complete (e.g: kill 5000 vex), and they grant a random drop of a piece of armor or a nice weapon that are upgraded to be competitive with the raid stuff. It would be a great add for casual players. I uderstand the logic that there is behind raids rewards. But as there is no matchmaking for raids it's somentimes quite hard to get 6 people to approach it. I have added + 50 friends on Destiny in order to play. But somehow it's not that easy to get a proper fireteam especially in the time period I use to play. It would be great to have content to make more worth to play part of the game that are nowadays seen as unimportant. It would be a great way to balnce more the time spent in game. I welcome other ideas and feedbacks about it. It doesn't make sense to complain without offering solutions.

  • You don't need to be max level unless you are going to do hard raid

I think there should be additional endgame strorylines that allow max level. This helps less skilled players do better in raids. Raid gear should just be distinguished by anti-enemy bonus perks such as praetorian super energy and oracle disrupters, hive disrupter, swordbearers touch etc. not by max level. You can't use level and weapons as trophies.

  • Even with the patch coming out on Tuesday, anyone can complete lanterns, death singer, and Crota solo. It's a difficult task and will require a lot of attempts - also, it would require one gaining the check point from someone off LFG if you don't want to run bridge with a group, but never the less, it is doable. Also, you can hit 32 by just doing lanterns which is simple (run from thrall, start bridge, jump on rock, snipe ogres) it will just take longer to obtain that gear. So saying that a matchmaking system is needed for people without friends to run with is not true. I'm not saying there should or shouldn't be a match making system, I'm just pointing out anyone with enough skill and/or determination can hit 32.

    • you dont have to kill crota. do the first two parts with 2 of the same class character and have an exotic helmet. I have killed crota but sadly he didnt drop the helmet.

32 is the end game level, the raid is the absolute end game material. There is no point in needing to be level 32 for the crucible as gear doesn't matter and players do not have elemental shields that need special weapons obtained in the raid to break them. The iron banner is the small exception, but that is only around for a week at a time and has only been available 3 times and there isn't much of a difference between 31 and 32 once competing in it. Also, the iron banner actually rewarded players with end game gear. Such as the second time the iron banner was here and you could obtain boots and gauntlets from reaching I believe rank 4. They each gave you 30 light, so with those and an exotic piece of armor you only needed 1 piece of raid gear, a helmet or chest. In other words, if you don't want to or cannot do the raid then do not complain about not being level 32... plain and simple.
somehow it's not that easy to get a proper fireteam especially in the time period I use to play.
Seriously though? Because you don't have enough time to complete a raid Bungie needs to completely change their entire game to suit you, hahah what a joke?! There are plenty of people out there who are level 32 (I have 2), it really isn't hard. And to get to 31 is so much easier now than it was to get to 29 in the VOG edition. You need to buy an exotic piece of gear from Xur (preferably a helmet), do the quest to get the gauntlets from Eris, and then do strikes to get vanguard marks to buy boots and a chest from the vanguard. This can all be obtained in less then a week.

    • Maximum level is 20. And raid gear being the highest rated gear in the game is nothing new. Bungie just gave the gear light levels instead of tiers... ...most likely to avoid constantly having to inspect players to see which tier they are at.

    • My ultimate question for you: why do you need to hit 32 if you're not gonna raid The lvl cap for this game is currently 32 but every other thing you can do in game has a highest difficulty setting of 30 So basically why do you need lvl 32

    • I'd suggest trying lfg, it typically works pretty well for finding teams, but I agree that we could really use more ways to reach max light/endgame gear. I've seen a few good really suggestions for it, but my favourite would be some kind of solo horde-mode kind of thing that could be played for a chance at getting high tier gear. Luckily I've got enough friends with similar time frames to finish my raid gear legit if they patch all the solo-stuff, but I'd still really like a new method.

Makes friends and play with them on a regular basis. Not just in raids. Otherwise use destinylfg.com to find groups
