Tried posting this to reddit but it was deleted. Couldn't think of where else to go so I thought you beautiful bastards may be able to help. So a few days ago my dad decided to sell his 2nd car. It's a good car, BMW and we've had it around 7 years. He's tried to sell it before but with no success. The reason he's selling it is because it's too expensive to keep on the road and the battery is always going flat. Like I said he's tried to sell it before. He's put ads on the internet and left the car on the side of roads so people can see it. But this was all around a year or two ago and it's been sitting in the garage for quite some time now. A few days ago he put another ad on the internet. 2 buyers have come to see the car but both didn't want it. Today a third buyer came from London to see and hopefully buy the car. I guess I should have stated earlier we live in the UK. The guy turned up in his car around 4pm today just as it was going dark. Polish bloke with an accent. My dad and I walked over to him as he was getting out of his car. He drives an estate and I could see there was quite alot of stuff in the back seats and boots but I couldn't really tell what. The guy tell my dad that if he buys the car he's not going to take it today. Instead my dad will keep the car and the keys till Monday when his brother will come pick it up on a trailer. If he can't come monday he'll come Tuesday at the latest. His brother lives outside london and his brother will drop it off to him. He checks the car out and that. We jumpstart it and take it for a testdrive(My dad, me and the buyer). We drive around when he mentions he's got 3 points on his license and he doesn't want to drive too long because of that. Apparently he had 6 but 3 were taken off. He seems in a bit of a hurry to get back. The test drive was probably less than 2 minutes long. Now I'm no genius and I've never bought a car before but if your buying a car wouldn't you test drive it for a bit longer. We get back and park the car and he and my dad start negotiating. After a while they settle on a price and he hands my dad the money. Right after that my dad gets out the documents for the car and they look over them. The guy doesn't sign anything at first. Apparently his plan is to export the car back to poland convert it to left hand ( do polish cars have to be left hand drive ?) and sell it off there. This sounds a bit fishy to me. Like I said the car battery is always going flat . If someone was to use this they'd have to jumpstart it every other day. But anyway. He gives the papers back to my dad and asks him to fill it out. Apparently his name is "Robert" if he needs to write it down. Dad says he'll look over the papers when he gets back into the house because he's never read the export section before and fill the papers out. At the moment my dad has the car, the keys, the money and the papers. And then the buyer tell my dad that his brother Here's where it get's interesting ... Right as were all about to get out the car and go to our homes he makes a request. Remember the stuff he had in his car? He asks if he could keep it in the boot of our car(the one we just sold to him)... At first my dad says no and asks why? Apparently it's christmas presents he and his wife have bought for their kids. He states that some of his "kiddies" have already found some of the presents so he's hidden it in his car? First problem If your kids had already found their presents why would you hide them in the car? Presumably they'd see and be inside the car everyday they'd see the damn presents wouldn't they? Eventually after a bit my dad lets him , he drives his car over and loads the "presents" (which are all clothes and toys)into the boot/trunk of our car. This is what confused me. The presents were all in duffel bags ? Shouldn't they be in boxes. I mean a duffel bag under a christmas tree would look stupid .I'm not too sure about this because my family's muslim so we've never even celebrated christmas. Wouldn't they be wrapped in boxes or something? The few that were wrapped were wrapped in brown tape and were spherical. And heres the second thing. There was a shit load of them. Around 4 or 5 duffel bags. Think this . I mean how many kids does this guy have? While he was loading them into the boot he said his Girlfriend was crazy about christmas . WHAT GIRLFRIEND YOU SAID YOU HAD A WIFE. He asked us not to touch anything. My dad and I watched as he loaded them in and drove off. The deal was done. My dad told me he seemed a bit shady when we got back into the house. He had to leave for work soon after so we didn't really talk much. But this got me thinking... Why were the presents in duffel bags and wrapped in brown tape. They should look like this not this. And they were way too many "presents" for a family of 5. And he asked us not to talk to his brother too much as he didn't speak english. And he's going to export it to poland soon. I didn't think for a second that those were presents. But then I came to the hunch that they were drugs. If this is the case do you think it makes sense? He plants the drugs in our car for his brother to pick up and take back to Poland to sell? That way he can keep the drugs away from his "family". Or are they really xmas presents and am I looking too far into this ? Help. The thing that scares me though is that he didn't sign the papers. If it is drugs and we get the police they'll charge us as there was no evidence of a sale cause he didn't write on the papers. It's 22:12 as I write this. I'm going to pop the hatch and check the packages tomorrow morning. One final question, and this is originally the one that got me thinking. Isn't 4 duffel bags and a few beach ball size spherical packages a bit overkill for christmas ? What do you guys think? If you've read this far. Help .
