Help! My exotic gear is weak sauce!
So I just came home from basic training and after a long awaited three months, I finally get to jump right back into destiny. Awesome right?! Not exactly, see I've noticed that some of my items have lesser values than others specifically, my knucklehead radar can be upgraded to a max of 402 defense, but other players have the same helm with a much greater number...even the various shops sell legendary armor that out does my exotic gear...can someone give me some insight on what's going on?

I'll tell you . Exotics can be upgraded to a new version by Xur if you have an exotic shard and glimmer to spare along with the item itself. The armor and weapons are all upgraded in the stores for the dark below content. Commendations are rewarded for ranking up your vanguard and crucible which are used to buy the helmets and chest pieces along with the marks.
