This community is changing along with the game.

Edit: Well this received a lot more attention than I expected and as near as I can tell, it's all good! I just wanted to say thanks. -Also adding a Thank you to Harperluu for her contribution. We're not all kids here and the string of comments following her post shows just how diverse the gaming community is. These are what I consider to be hardcore gamers, the ones that'll be taking a controller to their grave (but not just yet!). Is it my imagination or did the Destiny community turn out quite differently from the one we were expecting? I thought it would be a group of like minded sci fi fans playing out their fantasies of being the next Boba Fett or creating teams and trying to save humanity. Regardless of the path chosen I believed we were going to be in this together. Instead we seem to have been over run with a group of trash talking kids that conform to the COD stereotype. "Git gud scrub!" Is all over these forums and the vitriol they expel whenever someone makes a criticism (regardless of merit) of the game is appalling. I've been muting them as fast as I can, but they're everywhere! This community has become toxic and I can't help but feel that, as the game pushes the PVP aspect over the PVE more and more, it can only get worse. My fireteam and raid team is composed of adults, most with children. After the DLC dropped the polarity amongst the players became severe. My fireteam and raidteam found it so unpleasant that they've left Destiny. Some have returned to MMO's like DCUO and FF XIV , others are back to playing Borderlands. This game didn't turn out to be the epic space drama sandbox we expected and that's something we accepted (though we still have hope!). What is harder to take is Bungies insistence on fostering this prevailing "Space COD" atmosphere. Competition is fine, but the Co-op is why so many of us are here. We wanted to be part of an event that was going to be the gaming equivalent of Star Wars. To be able to look back ten years from now and say "I was there for that!" Don't lose sight of your vision Bungie. We bought this game because we believed in it as strongly as you.

 • Yeh. The forums have changed. When destiny first was released there wasn't all that much nasty toxic people spreading thier germs. I used to defend this game telling people that it was the first in the franchise and to give it a chance. But for me being unable to raid and crucible being diabolically bad, also the mind numbing repetitiveness of everything and the obismal rng/reward system made me realise and start to agree with these people. I admit I went to feedback and left some constructive valid points about this game. It's the least I could do considering I'd up graded from ps3 to ps4. I explained my disappointments is this game and left. I stopped playing destiny after that. It got to a point that I even would struggle to do daily. So now I visit planet bungie just to stay informed. I look at the forums and thier alot of moaning. Little people that have compensated thier real lifes for this game. Therfore when dark below came followed by even more disappointed in its masses they did the only thing thier small minds came accustomed to. Go on the forums and cry. They read other peoples complaints and it becomes a academic a breeding ground of glutinous small ignorant minded people. Iv been gaming before the interweb. I was gaming on a zx spectrum and all I can say is that the gaming industry has just gone to pure crap. Getting -blam!-ed by games devs and publishers and now an influx of the dregs of gaming. I'm nearly 40 now and I think and feel that the ps4 will be the last gaming platform I buy. I'm not going to follow gaming if this whole industry including gamers continues along this path. I hardly play destiny anymore and hardly ever read the comments on the weekly update. And you know what, my mind and soul feel so much better by not being infected by so much negativity.
