Penalty for having a life
Is there any patch coming to allow the ability to get radiant shards and energy outside of the raid (as well as weapons)? I feel like, because I only have one charecter leveled, I am being penalized because I can't get the good gear, weapons and upgrade materials aside from the one time of the week that I can run the raid and get awarded for it. Most of my friends have multiple charecters and are going through the raid many times a week and getting the rewards for it. I like the game alot but I feel like sisyphus constantly pushing the rock up the hill.

People that put time in get, and deserve to have the best gear. The model of the game isn't built around instant satisfaction or achievement once you get to higher levels and into end game gear.

Well yeah, they're grinding 2-3 times more than you are, of course they'll have more chances at radiant shards/energy. The real question is, why do you feel you should have just as much chances as they do when you're not working as hard?

You can solo the raid all the way to the second chest. It's no big deal. Check out reddit and youtube and connect the dots before Bungie nerfs it "because we're not supposed to play that way" with a game we bought with our own money.

I stopped giving a damn about hitting cap and it makes destiny more enjoyable. The only thing I do every week for sure is weekly and nightfall. Other than that what is point of getting to 32? Just wait for house of wolves and you can buy vendor gear for lvl 33( looking at you bungie).

1 ReplyThat's why I'm leaving my full time Destiny obsession. . Only play Tuesdays occasionally to horde strange coins and come back to Destiny in a year when all DLC is out. Then buy some level 40 (maybe by then?) gear and then play. Live my life now. Wait for beta to end. Play smarter NOT harder.

Make 2 more characters of the same class and level them to 20, now you can simply swap your gear and run the raid 2 to 3 times a week with the same class character and have better odds of getting the armor you need as well.

On one hand, I see your point. On the other, Boongie totally screwed over all the exotic collectors who now have exotics they need to upgrade or be left behind. And all those IB players who ground for gear.

1 ReplyTheres no need to put in time. Bungie seems to best reward the people that do nothing. Join a raid/crucible team and do nothing. Im sure youll get some awesome gear.

I agree you should be able to get stuff like ascendant shards from not doing the raid as well. I mean, they do have public events that give them, but half the time I never get them, and when I do it's...1 shard...like really? I have a Titan and I literally cannot progress him without doing the raid for shards or waiting eons until I save them up every day. I did VOG the other night and all I got was radiant energy...

Agreed. There should be other ways other than raiding to get radient items.

It takes maybe 8-10 hours tops to run through the story on a duplicate character to be able to switch the armor between the two, you can have a life and spend 1-2 hours a day on a new character and it'll take no more than a week to level up. If you don't want to do that then tough luck, if you want more rewards you have to put in more time, pretty simple.
