If you have the DLC and above level 3, levelling up your rank will give you one Commendation. In my experience, completing the bounties (as well as the usual daily, weekly and nightfall strikes) levels up your rank pretty quickly. I wasn't a fan at all with the Commendation system and view hasn't changed now but having 3 guardians does help. To date I have 6 Commendations (2 each from each guardian). Thing is, in my opinion, the Vanguard vendor weapons aren't anything special although I do like Plug One.1 Fusion and there's a good Scout. psn: abandon_ali_hope ('i' is capital)
