The meaning of Story, why PvE means more then PvP

When stories begain, they were to share what we know, to bring hope and wisdom to the fire. As time past, we left the stories on the page, allowing words to become immortal, living beyond the words for generations. When the first cut was made, the film set to grade, we saw the stories at last and when words came we sought the stories with our own life. We created games to entertain, but soon they became the cultivation between the lifeblood of so many paths, so many journeys left to others. Now, at last, we can tread them together, in lands that we find our escape. Video games may not be what you see when you see tomorrow in your minds eye, but to me and so many others, this is the door to new paths. The paths to the impossible, the undeniable, the worlds we seek in our dreams. We can no longer hide from it, we must embrace the future, we must learn to fight for these dreams, these world's we have made with our very souls. They have been crafted by master smiths, and in our hands legends are born and monsters die. When a smith forges a blade or plate of armor, it is made to go into battle. Only fools forge false garb, for if the blade should crack, if the shield should brake, the warriors may meet these pretenders at their home. The most righteous of warriors may seek clarity, or correction over retribution and confusion. This is the meaning of words, and the beginning of our tale; the end only comes in chapters not in fates. The life of flame is brief, but beautiful, it echoes throughout time and is bringer of our faith, courage, hope, and passion. I will be that flame if I can, I will burn bright and if I mange the light will be blue. I ask that I not be the only light, that I be one star in the night sky, for there is never one shining back against the darkness. Will you stand by me, will you push back the night? - This post was made as a response to someone for my negative response a while ago, and I looked back and saw it and thought I would share. The whole point of a game is the story, the gameplay might be fun, the characters interesting, but the story is the soul of a game. Bungie can't always fix the issues with a game, and adding new content is nearly impossible with Activsion as their partner, but they can fix the story....make the Grimiore cards in game, have them read aloud just as they do in Mass Effect, and make a few videos or specific audio diaries for the exotics. There is so much more to video games then the endless grind, and I say let this game no longer be about the turning of gears, but about the turning of pages.

    • Such a dream, lost in the echoes of my mind....it calls to me at times, but I cannot see it, only feel it when the days go by. I wish and beg for more, but still the divine remains silent. All the while, the universe slips past, and the endless echoes of what could be, what should be, slowly fade into the misery that may not have been.

    • Didn't read the book u wrote. So just judging by title. Pve with story would maybe mean more than pvp if this game actually had a story. U can complete this story in 7 hours casually. Only 2 games i've played with a story as short as that is mirrors edge and a ps1 game.

      • I bought the game for PvE, if I want PvP I'll go buy cod. The focus of so much pvp in this game is very disappointing and the consequences of listening to the cry babies that call for nerfs has caused alot of grief to the majority of players who wanted more pve elements. Story should be the soul focus of every dlc from here on out. It's understandable how it was lacking due to the absence of the original story writer but they've had time to replace him and should concentrate on making it up to the ppl who didn't return the game after finding out it wasn't what they had originally promised

        • In PvE you run around and kill stuff and wait for it to respawn. In PvP, you run around and kill stuff and wait for it to respawn.
