Just curious. I'm great with the relic in the Vault, which makes me think I'll eventually be the sword carrier in our raid group. Just want to know what everyone's opinions are to do the most damage to Crota.

Heavy all the way. R2 only. And with good timing u can get 4 r2s. I just did crota about an hour ago as swordbearer. 2 1/2 swords. U just need perfect timing. Hunter carrying the sword is single best class btw. Bladedancer is just plain nuts for bearing the sword. I'll share my pro tip to. Invisible. Stand next to crota soon as u see his shield is about to drop start attacking. Hit 4 r2s. Immediately drop the sword and blink strike crota to turn invisible. Grab sword and wait for his shield to drop and hit 3 more r2s. Your welcome.

So everyone knows HHH = 42,000 LLH = 26,800 Now multiply by 4 for 4 sword Bearers HHH = 168,000 LLH = 107,200 You miss out on over 60,00 damage. If your team is good and do a callout for the timing then you have no problem with HHH. Also if you are a BD then you can go invisible and get 5-6 hits on him in one go and then take him down again for another 5-6 hits.

I haven't tried it yet, but everyone tells me the best combo is cheddar, cheddar, mozzarella. Gets him down pretty fast, from what I hear.
-
Interesting. Most comments say combo but the results say all heavies...
-
(RB, RB, RT) x2 will get him down to 60% health with the first sword bearer if you have a good team.

Edited by MISTER TORGUE: 12/18/2014 7:40:52 AMYou literally have to time it so you are hitting him before he even goes down. Like he should be taking damage as he is going down. I hit RB a bunch of times finish off with one single RT and after one sword rotation he is a little over half health. Get super on next rotation and he is dead, don't even got to kill the trolls. If there is not at least 3 people on the team with G-Horn, good luck. You will probably have a bad time.

I was with an Amazing sword bearer today. He would make sure to hit Crota 3 times with r2, then drop the sword, blink strike for invis, then as soon as Crota dropped again he did another 4 heavies. He got Crota down to 30% before ogres came out.

3 heavy slams will give you 43,000 damage 2 x Swipe, Swipe, heavy will do 50,000 damage 3 heavy slams is easy to get off then all those combos but if you have flawless timing do the combo Pro tip: If you dont have alot of time do 2 swipes then heavy heavy heavy

RT RT, special with the sword

Edited by ZOMBGOD: 12/18/2014 6:17:43 AMPersonally use slash, slash, uppercut, smash first turn with sword. Slash, slash, uppercut, smash, super on 2nd turn with sword. That combo is ultra fast, it does only slightly less damage then the 3 smash strategy in about 1.5 seconds less time which ensures a safe exist for swordbearer and no unnecessary wipes for the team. I believe Slash does 6400 each time, uppercut is 12800, smash is 14000. R1, r1, r2, r2 is the combo, the third r2 triggers a lightning fast uppercut. Also hitting him with combos ensures your super is ready regardless if your team gave you orbs so you can add major damage to him the 2nd attack. I personally find this the best balance between aggression and safety and beats him with 3 swords.

I land 4 heavies and an occasional light after.

Vision of Confluence fully upgraded really works and the Icebreaker does as well. We also managed to super him with the sword but I'm not actually sure if that took much or any damage off (don't see why it wouldn't) as I was on Knight duty.
-
Slam-Super-Slam, according to KingGothalion. I still gotta try my hand at Crota's End.
-
My group tested the sword super....... Never again!
-
Good timing and all heavy attacks. Less than 3 swords easy.
-
Getting him down on his knee and making him stay there.
-
Doing just heavy attacks kills him with three swords.. If your timing is good. You can get 4 hits each time
-
Heavy smash...if you get your timing right you can get 4 hits in then jump down take him down and do another 4. It's easy to get perfect timing with at least 3 ghorns.
-
it really depends on what combo you are comfortable with. i only use 3-4 heavy so 6-8 heavy on 1 sword. last time i did 6 total per sword and he was down on the 3rd sword. its all about on your playstyle.
-
light, light, heavy = 6400, 6400, 14000 heavy, heavy, heavy = 14000, 14000, 14000 those numbers are off by a few but that is mostly correct and yes you can get 3 heavy swings in, sometimes 4 if your team and sword carrier has there timing right
-
Heavy by far, perfect timing you csn get 1 1 2 1 1 2 on him which does less than 4 perfect timed heavy not to mention sometimes you can get even 5 heavy in.
-
Lignt light heavy. Spamming heavy takes way too long & time is of the essence in CE. Jumping smashes just waste time & sometimes you miss so NEVER do them.
-
My method is basically all heavy method, but if you happen to have a team that isn't useless, get them to pop you some orbs on the way there. If you have a super, on you're 4th heavy swing, at the very beginning of the animation, super crota. The 4th heavy along with the super will register. This is the most effective way I think we can use at this point in time.
-
My experience has been combo all the way. Obviously you'll need to adjust according to how fast you get to Crota, but if done flawlessly you can get two full combos per kneel, supering when/if available.
-
Don't even know why I put "All light attacks" in there...
-
You forgot "sword super"
kidding, lol
