Ok here's the problem so for nearly two months now the community has found that we lose large chunks of our heavy ammo upon death, 'IF' our armour has a "carry more heavy ammo" perk on it. I just got the raid boots with this perk and thought nice now i can carry 100 extra bullets in the new LMG (song of iryut) Go to Crota and with 280 bullets, not one fired, 2 wipes left me with 120!!!
This will hit the gjallarhorn and other launcher users especially hard.
(A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO CLAIM THAT THIS IS INTENDED AND NOT A GLITCH, BUT YOU ALSO LOSE AMMO FOR GOING TO THE TOWER, CHANGING PLANETS AND EVEN DURING A STORY WHEN A CUTSCENE OCCURS. TRY BLACK GARDEN WITH THIS PERK GUYS. THEN COME BACK AND POST THAT THIS IS AN INTENDED FEATURE.)
The problem has not been solved by the game developers for a while and our voice has lulled to a whisper, we have to get this fixed. The guys over at Bungie admitted themselves that this was a programming error and over three months down the line, they have done literally zip about it. We need to generate a strong community action, so sign yourselves beneath and we can get our voices heard!!!
Just before I posted it also occurred to me that we haven't received extra storage space. If we get enough signatures and THEY STILL IGNORE US, I for one am not going to bother being a "regular" player any more, I am planning on buying a few games in the sales and will return around the dark wolves dlc to grind up my light for the next raid, leaving someone to carry me for a change :) Let's make this happen!!
EDIT - Big shout to Hoots711 who discovered Bungie's official responses on the matter by DeeJ
" We know about this and we're working on it. It may seem like a trivial fix with a simple solution from the outside looking in, but the reality is that this particular bug could create some very serious issues if it's not handled correctly. It's particularily pernicious and systemic from what I am told, so the team wants to take time with it so as not to do more harm than good with a premature or untested solution.
We know this is a frustrating bug and we know waiting for a fix isn't super fun. But it's going to be a while yet before we can address it with confidence. The team will keep you posted as/if/when they make progress."

EDIT - Corrective Measure and /or any weapon with the field scout perk seem to be the only weapons that aren't affected by this bug. THE ONLY WAY AROUND THIS IS TO SWITCH ARMOUR BACK AND FORTH, I TESTED IT AND IT WORKS!!!
ALSO IF YOUR SYNTHESIS DOESN'T WORK, IT IS BECAUSE YOUR INVENTORY IS FULL....
omg THEY JUST ANNOUNCED THAT IT IS ON THE WAY TO SOON BE MENDED woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

As a retired software engineer, I can understand that complex system bugs need careful analysis to minimize further impacts arising from proposed fixes, but what, Bungie, is preventing you from giving your customer base some kind of compensation for their irritation and extra grind time that this is engendering? Also, a brief shout out regarding the 'unexpected kick' feature that you have somehow introduced into the game. Seriously, guys, if a company in the business of providing data services (as mine was) took this long to fix bugs, they would be paying some hefty performance penalties and losing customers. Don't be 'that company', eh?

I hate this bug.

+1 SIGNED … It's obvious this can be fixed since Corrective measure has no problem properly handling it's ammo inventory. Bungie… You do understand you player base sees you offer unneeded patches to the game, such as adding random teleporting to the Atheon fight, yet leaving the ammo bug unaddressed. The heavy ammo bug should be a high priority on your list of bug fixes, since heavy ammo synth packs are pretty costly, and the bug takes on the form of an unfair credit sink.

bump more

Bunpity bump. Storage beginning to be a deal breaker.
-
It's not supposed to happen in cutscenes as you said, but when you die it's intended.

Honestly what the hell is wrong with you people..... heavy ammo is not that big of a deal...stop dying....conserve your ammo....go kill the baddies to get more ammo. Your all a bunch of damn heavy ammo synth addicts.

Signed.

Knowing that they are working on a fix for the heavy ammo bug is enough for me. I can appreciate what it takes and wait for that fix to arrive. Then once it does release all the glory and wonder that is my rocket launcher galore.
-
This is definitely one thing that really is a bummer. We grind for glimmer and heroic strike for coin to buy synthesis from xûr and the system steals it back? Sounds like solid logic to me...
-
Just fix it, Bungie. I never feel like raiding due to this bug. I would still have like 50 more synthesis right now if it wasn't for this.
-
Pretty sure it's an intended feature
-
This is the bug I hate the most. When did DeeJ post that they are still pretty clueless on how to go about fixing what seems so trivial to fix yet horribly annoying? I wonder what kind of serious issues they are worried about: ammo refilled instead of lost on death :D ?
-
Wishful thinking, but bump it anyways
-
They are never going to fix it. They can patch just about every cheese method in a matter of days, but they have not fixed numerous issues that have been present for months. Give it up. Bungie doesn't care about the broken aspects of their game. Unless it makes the game easier...
