Why wouldn't i delete, and remake my 3rd character?
As the game stands, you are at the mercy of RNG and "gate" content.. We have all run the raid and got nothing but energys when we need shards. Or just cant get that last item of raid armor.
Since everything in the game can be swapped to another character, you have no reason to level up factions with more than your main. as he can buy the faction gear and transfer it to the alt.
i personally have 2 warlocks and one hunter, But since the raid is so short and we only get a few ascendant shards per raid.
You can level up a new character in around 10 hours. So i ask, why wouldn't you run the nightfall / heroic and raid on the tuesday, Delete the character, level up a new one who would be ready to raid on the friday, delete him and have another ready by the following tuesday.
I know people say this isnt "how the game is intended to be played" But wouldnt bungie have patched it so you can only make one of each class?

3 RepliesThe question is why do you want to delete your character and restart, just because you can get extra loot? I have 3 level 30s, with the option of going to 31, however I refuse to buy tower gear because I have all the raid gear + exotics to get to 31 already (minus a few shards - which will flood in shortly), the truth is I can complete all endgame content in the game as a Level 30, why would I want to reset my progress in the hope to get another shot for some gear I want but don't need.

Though I only have TWO warlocks.... But EXACTLY! If bungie didn't intend for the game to be played this way, 9 out of 10, they would have patched it by now. So why everyone get mad at people you don't even know? Just because their doing something you don't like you bash them? Its not affecting you in any particular way!

Just looking for the general consensus. I have yet to actually do it. Since vog gave you so many shards. Dark below gives you so few I can't even upgrade the drops I have. Making me feel obliged to abuse the system of deleting characters

I couldn't take doing those starting Earth missions over and over again, but if anyone is hating on you , tell them to go jump in the hellmouth. If you are patient enough to do this twice a week, each effin week, your mind is stronger than mine.

First, assuming it takes you s few hours to do the raid, that's almost 40 hours a week. That's amazing, and basically a job. Second, Why would you delete on Friday to have another ready by Tuesday? It resets.

Personally you do what you want. Its your game. If you want to delete a character and level each week then you go right ahead. I personally don't have the time for it between Crucible, Weekly, Nightfall and Raid each week. Plus bounties to level up gear and weapons. I think eventually I'm going to delete my Warlock and make 3 Hunters. Seeing how now my Warlock is under leveled and I would need to buy 31 gear that I'd rather spend on new weapons.

Lol I just deleted a character. I've beat the raid 6 complete times from start to finish. With the chests. I got gloves and helmet, 3 rocket launchers 3 machine guns, and guess what. 12 shards...rest were energy
