Now just going from what I've seen, it looks like the new Scout Rifle and Pulse Rifles will serve the same purpose as the Confluence and Timepiece. They're going to even have the same types of damage. (Solar and Arc) Wouldn't it make more sense for us to get a Scout rifle that does something OTHER than Solar damage? I know I like how the Confluence feels but if the next Scout rifle is going to outperform it on everything except Oracles then we'll have no PvE use for it. Even switching them around would offer something new to the game. A Solar Pulse rifle and Arc Scout would be cool...
