I also think Bungie is cutting its losses with this game. They will put in the bare minimum from here on out, and instead will start to focus energy on Destiny 2. If they do that, and take into account a lot of the massive failures of Destiny, then Destiny 2 could actually be epic. Question is: will I buy it?

I enjoyed Destiny and I respect(ed) bungie, but I am absolutely waiting this time before I go all out n buy the game a/ DLC pass
-
Oh it is, the heart of praxic fire not being apart of my inventory or gear is pushing me to the breaking point whenever I see xur sell it's upgrade or people get it

It's plain to see that the truly talented Bungie members either left or were fired. Those running Bungie now put screwing over their players as their biggest priority. No Story, No Vision, Lies upon Lies as to how Expansive, Mysterious and Enthralling Destiny would be. Destiny has a Mad-Lib produced plot, Brain Dead Enemy AI, Zero Surprises, just Endless Repetition. It has the most Boring and Dead game worlds ever encountered. What a GD waste. No way is Destiny gonna last 10 years in this appalling state! I'd say Destiny 2 actually getting made is a long-shot. Players have good reason to feel betrayed and let down by Destiny. Bungies former stellar reputation has been demolished, never again will pre-order or buy a Bungie game without giving reviewers time to find out how awful it is.

Yeah this game lately has been giving me that dirty / wrong feeling like you get if you're an addict in an abusive relationship. You want to get away, you hate what you're addicted to, but you just can't help yourself.
-
I'm pretty sure Destiny 2 will be more of the same if they still happen to have enough people to support it. Hell, after all the bullshit they've pulled with this game, they still have a large number of people avidly defending it, (though God only knows why...).
-
Oh son, nonono. The first 2-3 years of the original Everquest was that experiment. They got all the data they could possibly need. Everything Destiny has done ever has nothing on the pure unbridled sadism of those first few years.
-
I won't.
-
I don't know will you?
-
My favorite are the people who say stuff like "I log in every day and play in the hopes of getting something, or things getting better." lol. It's the same game as the day before...
-
Agreed. I'm 100% sure that destiny sees what we want and intentionally doesn't give it to us so that we will keep playing.
-
Destiny is just a beta for Destiny 2. All Destiny players should get a free copy of Destiny 2 as recompense for suffering through Destiny 1.
-
What's the point of making a destiny 2 when everyone has seen the fail that destiny 1 is who would he stupid enough to buy destiny 2
-
Well, let's not fall for any overblown marketing campaign and hype the next time around. While I am hopeful, I am 100% certain that I will not buy D2 until I read reviews from players. No matter if any of us are satisfied with D1 or not, the fact is that all of us were sold a bill of good that simply was not delivered
-
LOL I don't care, I play games to relax in freetime.
-
It is. Still can't believe they suckered me into this grind wipe grind wipe grind hamster Vegas slot machine.

Edited by DangerMouse: 12/17/2014 8:16:30 PMI think so but here is the issue. The damage done by lack of content, endless grinding that has little to no diversity, and the insult that was the dark below bungie has a really negative perception right now. They might not be able to overcome it. It will be difficult, people are going to go into destiny 2 thinking the worst I know I won't buy it unless the reviews and forums back it up a lot. What's worse is this is a game I want to love so much I see the amazing potential but I won't be taken advantage of by anyone and that's what the game is starting to feel like to me

This game is all about anticipation for me. It keep you interested and wanting to play more in hopes of getting your desired prize. Yeah, it pisses me off and I want to quit but there is always that chance you MIGHT get what you're looking for. Destiny, much like Supercell who has one of the biggest iOS games ever, is brilliant in that which makes you want to keep playing even though it irritates everyone. I have a lot to complain about in this game too but, it's just too addicting to quit.
-
The feeling I get from this game is like that of a freemium game. The game is horrible and boring with most of the game being grinding, but I can't stop playing it and for some reason, I'd continue to keep spending money on it. Yeah, same exact feeling I get when playing my android games like Avabel or any of the CCG's that I have downloaded.

I won't buy it; because I will not encourage the industry to engage in this type of business model. Destiny was advertised as epic and delivered as mediocrity. For what reason would I pay for something that should have been epic from the start? Should we have to pay someone to fix their own mistakes? If Destiny fails; then it does so to the benefit of consumers. If it gets turned around FFXIV-style, the result is the same: A message is sent to the industry that advertising an epic AAA console game and delivering a mediocre title with content-gating and grind mechanics ripped from mobile freemium games will not be accepted.

That's exactly what they're doing. Destiny 2 will be monthly fee based. They are testing addiction strategies around random reward based game play, leveling strategies, etc. To assess which will hook a player in a game with alnost no content. Then in Destiny 2 the fees will come. It's a business. There are some great elements to Destiny but without the rng people wouldn't be playing raid after raid after raid just for the level design. How many games would you replay the same content week after week after week for 3 months? None. It's the drops and the rng that manipulates the human psyche. It's not hard to see through. Ha g with friends, play the crucible, raid and wait for someone to do a version of Destiny that has real content.

Look up the head john hopson. You are right Here: http://www.gamasutra.com/view/authors/205411/John_Hopson.php

If Destiny 2 turns out to be what they advertised through the Vidocs, then I will definitely pay the monthly fee. They advertised Destiny to have a living and active open world with detailed character customization and leveling. Instead we have a game with a terrible loot system, abysmal progression, a terrible story, and no variety.
-
Interestingly DAI implements the same psychological methods as Destiny but dneither does not bore me and does not feel hollow and repetitive. Why? Because it has likable characters and a STORY and a world that CHANGES! I am not just a rat in a lab. I can choose to leave the lab! And I did.
-
I will not this not the game they should us at e3. Im finished and when the game is 5 years old no one will be able to play it their will be no servers. This was a complete waist of money.
-
I wouldn't buy shit from Bungie again without reading tons of reviews first. They lost credibility with Destiny and I won't buy blindly again.
-
EA must be doing the same thing
