Exotic Shards: Good in concept, but execution is off. Why are they required for the last upgrade on a weapon? Myself and many of my friends don't care about these shards, because the last tiny attack bump isn't worth the effort.
Solution: Block off the perk that makes a weapon or armor piece "exotic". This would make these shards more valuable, as they'd be required to upgrade that perk. This would effectively bottleneck your exotic until you could upgrade it past that point. This is necessary to keep these shards viable, and would fit their lore better. Few people will fight tooth and nail over one upgrade.
Commendations: Alright, here we go...
Why are people who have ranked up over and over at a vendor not rewarded for their past ranks? All this system does is frustrate people who have other responsibilities in life, locking off helmets and chest pieces until level 3, or until they can level past 3 if they had just ranked up before this was implemented. Even worse, the helmets and chest pieces still say "rank 2 unlocked" but you can't purchase them unless you have a commendation which requires rank 3. This doesn't really seem fair to the casual player, as I don't believe that in-game this information is presented anywhere.
Solution: Either change how these commendations are earned or get rid of them entirely.
Final point: Where is our vendor gear? Did you design unique names, descriptions, and styles for the weapons and armor just to scrap them 3 months later? It makes very little sense at best, at worst it seems like an absolutely absurd decision.
Another Aside: VoG has no purpose outside of farming ascendant materials or obtaining the Mythoclast. This is because you made all of its weapons and armor obsolete, even to the new regular vendor gear.
