Destiny companion app Requests
I love the companion app.
But it could be so much... MORE.
As of right now, its more of a means of viewing past info on your character. Its nice we can change armor and weapons using the app, but that just launches more questions about what could/should be possible currently.
1. Be able to purchase weapons and armor via the app
Why is this not an option? Additionally, when checking out your equipped gear, you can look at perks, and upgrade paths, but you cannot inspect unpurchased gear? Shouldn't we at the very least be able to see the elemental damage on a weapon we are looking at?strange.
2. Be able to acquire/give up on bounties currently listed.
This would be really nice to stock up on bounties while at work to grind on that evening, allowing to pick up more bounties later on (since it's likely refreshed by that point.)
3. somewhat unrelated, but it would be nice to earn (1) mark for each time we help answer guardian questions on the forums or something. another incentive to utilize the multiple platforms. or something. just a thought. Heck, it would be even cooler if there were FORUM bounties.
4. changing guardian loadout/ability/perks would be nice, though maybe not as needed.
5. Be able to see previews of emblems able to be purchased. kind of silly they are displayed if you cannot see/purchase them.
6. Be able to redeem bounties via the website/app. Be able to forfeit/delete bounties via the website and app.
7. Be able to see exp and reputation gained for bounties on the website and app.
8. Be able to dismantle gear via website and app?
9. be able to see current playlists available via website and app
among other things. feel free to build upon.

1 Reply^Alot of this is what the app needs. Anything that goes on in the menus (gear management, tower stuff) should be the apps end goal. I'd like to see it become an integrated part of the game.

It's great to see someone else thinking about this. There could be so much more interaction with the companion app and the game, primarily the tower. You were right on the money when you talked about picking up and discarding bounties from the companion app so you could prepare for a session without hitting the tower first. Things that could be added to this are adding/equipping items to/from the vault, turning in engrams, viewing vendor stock, buying armor/weapons, and talking to XUR. The biggest one for me would be adding/equipping items to/from the vault. It would make character switching so much smoother. Currently it takes 10-15 minutes to get to the tower, put items in the vault, switch characters, go back to the tower, equip items, then finally go do something. Forum incentives are an interesting idea, but they could be too easily manipulated allowing users to create multiple accounts and answer their own questions to gain marks. Bungie -- are there any future plans for the companion app?

It's a nice suggestion, but would hard implement. Also account security would become a huge issue and with that never seeing it happen. Just think if your were hacked and some hacker wanted to really mess with you. Dismantle all gear, remove bounties/exotic bounty. Then would also create issue with hackers making issue with game changing code to auto complete a bounty just from picking up then using app to change it.

I'd like to be able to choose where I want to fly from the app and skip the orbit screen. :)
