So, I've never posted on any forums before, however, I was really eager to see what others have to say about my situation as well as if anyone shares it. I know there have been a lot of posts about class superiority lately, and even though it may sound bad, I actually enjoy reading them. From these posts, I learn of others opinions as to why their class is the most fun and "superior." But with this post, I wanna know about your choice as to what class you play mainly, whether it was your first character or not.
Personally, I hopped into the Destiny world from previous Halo experience. So I naturally had a feeling I should have tried Titan, however I ignored the instincts and decided to try something new in the beta... Warlock. Because playing as a space magic wielding warrior was a newer idea for me, It was a blast at first. Warlock was my first choice for when the real game came out, because I mistakenly hadn't tried out the other classes in the beta.
Void walker was my favorite, blowing up things with a glowing purple ball of light is always awesome, right? However for some reason Sunsinger just never clicked. I use/ used it for self rez in situations like the nightfall, but it just wasn't fun. A super should vary it up, right? In my opinion, super grenades and melee just didn't do it, but by all means tell me why I'm wrong!
Moving on, when I had leveled up my warlock to around 27, doing the nightfall and sometimes raid around once a week just wasn't enough, so I immediately started a new Titan, as I had secretly been wanting to do but never got around to it. However, right out of the box, I realized that I was already enjoying and having way more fun with my titan. Because I wanted to feel loyal to a character, I shrugged off the feeling and leveled him up for the sole purpose of nightfall. When my Titan had leveled up, I basically repeated the same process with a new hunter, but he's not that important to my story (hunter was definitely not as fun as warlock or Titan for me, sorry hunters).
So I carried on with my warlock, but I continued to be discouraged from the space wizards. I was just getting bored... Plus, I had done the raid around 10 times and I hadn't received any armor, as you can imagine, I was getting impatient. But then bungie went and brought back iron banner! My knight in shining armor! Obviously I leveled through those ranks and bought the armor; my warlock was then looking pretty good. However after seeing some forum posts about the titan's iron banner armor, I thought i might as well level up as much as I could before IB left the next day.
But let me just tell ya... IB with my Titan began to open my eyes. I started spending more time on my Titan, and even began to raid twice a week (once with warlock, once with titan). Ironically, my titan got just what he needed from the raid, which further discouraged me from warlock. Eventually I came to my senses and accepted my true purpose (lol sounds so cheesy). As much as I'd like to say I stuck with my first character until the end, switching to Titan was the right thing to do, and I hope my former warlock brothers will forgive me and that my new Titan brothers will accept me.
So that's my story of a change of heart, now tell yours! Have you stuck with your original since the beginning? Why did you choose that class? Are you similar to me and experienced a change of heart? I enjoy reading about others choices so share your comments now!
