Okay so hear me out here. When the dark below comes out all of our current exotics will be a little pointless (unless we buy the upgrade) so I've come up with a way to give them worth. My proposed solution is to downgrade them to legendary status. Take truth for example. It won't do much in crota's end but in combination with hard light you'd have a decent load out. Both weapons are weaker then new raid weapons and exotics so it'd be fair if you could use two at once. Bungie would also have to tag the weapons with something like, "This weapon hasn't had it's full potential realized," meaning it can become exotic. The big issue would be PvP where base damage matters instead of attack. That same tag would mean that only one of it or an exotic could be equipped when you enter a game, otherwise you get a message saying, "Please use only one upgradable legendary or one exotic." I open to all feedback on this and I'll edit whatever you guys think I should have written.
